My Favorite Nintendo 64 Games

The Nintendo 64 was the first console I purchased for myself, well partially, my sister and I pitched in together. This made it extremely important to me because it was a huge catalyst for the great relationship I have with her. We would play together often and it really helped me bond with her and is surly a contributor to our great relationship to this day. The controllers I have are still marked with our names, whenever I break this out it makes me think back to all the fun we had sitting in my parents living room back on Wells Ave.

  I have fond memories of collecting stars with my best friend Wil during my middle school days. I have vivid memories of chasing that rabbit in the basement around forever. In fact there is so much of this game that I can remember explicitly is crazy, it must be due to me spending so much time with it. It wasn't until I started collecting games relatively seriously that I owned a copy of Super Mario 64 myself. This is one of the games I go back to when I bust out my N64, truly a game changer.

  3. Snowboard Kids

  This was my favorite racing game for the N64, my sister and I got a lot of millage out of it. This was one of my favorite soundtracks of the N64, really upbeat, it added a lot of excitement to racing.

  Never owned a copy of this but still managed to get through it a couple times buy renting or borrowing a copy.

  6. Paper Mario

  I beat this game while I had mono, obviously I had a lot of free time. My parents rented it for me and I'm fairly sure I beat it in 3 days, although my memory is a little foggy as I was doing a lot of sleeping.

  7. GoldenEye 007

  This was the first game we got with the console because they didn't have anymore copies of Super Mario 64. I used to spend hours playing 4 player split screen with my sister and friends, great memories with this one.

  13. Star Wars: Episode I - Racer

  The racing wasn't anything new or memorable but this was my first experience with a racing game that let you pick your upgrades. This was a great feature and it really pushed me to earn money to improve my racer.

  15. Perfect Dark

  My friend Justin and I had a blast with this game. Basically it came down to us creating a match with the dumbest bots ever and having a blast with the FarSight. The FarSight XR-20 might be my favorite gun in a video game ever.
