Laptop is around 5 years old, its a Samsung L650D I believe, its running Windows 7 which is a legit version of Home Premium. Its not an SSD.

The second screen ALWAYS follows the blue screen. The boot order has the HDD first.

Not super compter savvy when it comes to parts and stuff. Is the best option to back up my stuff and replace the hard-drive?

Recently Ive been getting blue screens on my laptop every couple of days.

It blue screens, resets and displays the screen shown on the link to my tweet

Some times it happens multiple times a hour, sometimes it happens after hours of use and others it doesnt happen at all. I've tried running Memory checks and disk checks but they all come up fine.

Thinking I need to completely restore it but not sure its going to help as someone in work suggested it would be caused by the warm weather we've had recently and thats causing the graphics card to over heat.

Any advice?

Looking to make the switch from console (Xbox One and PS4) to PC.

Zalman case / FX-8350 / 16GB Ram

1TB HDD + 256GB SSD / 290X 4G

DVD-RW / Windows 8

That is the PC im looking at. Mainly after one to play stuff I missed out on such as Batman Arkham series, XCOM, GTA 5, Dark Souls, Marvel Heroes

Whilst also being able to play newer stuff like WWE 2k15, Arkham Knight, XCOM 2, Phantom Pain

Guys I work with say its a good PC and well worth getting. Those are the only specs the site offered. Theyve helped me with understand specs and say I wont have a problem running anything.

Looking for some opinions on this setup. I lack the knowledge and confidence to build one from scratch so I just want something that'll get me up and running with few limitations

A mate has suggested this

Moving a few funds around this could certainly be in my price range if its a good system. Obviously I want to play new games like Phantom Pain, Batman etc

But a huge focus is the back cat such as XCOM, Batman, Dark Souls and F2P like SMITE and Marvel Heroes.

Im not hooked on graphics so if I cant run something on ultra it wouldnt bother me

Someone I work with who is big into PC gaming is offering to sell me his "spare" gaming PC. Now I was looking to trade my PS4 and Bloodborne in for cash at a local game store and buy one using those funds (comes to approx £195) but he is willing to do a straight swap for this PC for my PS4 and game.

The specs he sent me are:

core i5 2310

8gb ddr3 1333

320gb hdd

hd5770 1gb/2gb (unsure on gb) or for £45 could be 7870

500 wat psu

People I know say its a good setup for a first PC and for the price (effectively nothing as Im not playing my PS4) is a bargain.

Just looking for some feedback

The patch is 20GB or so if I remember rightly, which whilst is still going to suck for my internet, better than the alternative 60GB. Put thanks for the input guys, I'll grab a disc :D

I bought the Master Chief collection digitally, however my Xbox has now died on me and I am getting a new one under warranty tomorrow. Since moving house my internet is utterly disgusting and will likely take me a few days to redownload the game (60GB)

Can I go buy the disc version, install it that way, and then return the disc version and the system will play it fine?
