I'll pick this up when it hits the bargain bin (an inevitable fate) just to check it out.  If the gimmick of using any electric guitar with the game actually works, then I'll have another game to play with my Squier Rock Band Strat,  Some of those tunes are impressive, but I don't hold much hope for the game itself.  At least it's bound to better than the car wreck that was Power Gig.

Why the hell does Catwoman kiss the bad guy she's beating up?   Oh yeah, 'cause she's a girl so she has to do "sexy" stuff, even if it means being physically intimate with a revolting dude trying to kill her.  That plus the needless camera angles on her butt doesn't say much for Rocksteady's take on women.  Turning Harley into a tarted-up bondage nurse in the last game didn't help either.  Now I loved Arkham Asylum, and lots of this game looks damn impressive.  I'm gonna play it.  But it's likely that the Catwoman stuff might be a low point.  I hope not, because including her as a powerful, self-sufficient character would be fantastic.

I'm up for a good Aliens game as much as the next guy, but this tells us nothing more than "hey look!  Game's comin'!"   We'll see what the result is.  It doesn't help that the big reveal shot in this trailer can't get its details right.  If that's a maintenance/security camera we're peeping though at the end, why is it moving in all dramatic-like?  Not zooming, which would be more plausible, but actually moving in.  If you're trying for a "found footage" vibe, then think it through, fellas.

I've been there, too.  A friend of mine works directly above the Whiskey dudes.  He says it always sounds like they're having fun down there.  Big surprise.

I'll add my Yawp to the chorus:  Harmonix could do these guys justice with the RB3 features and their level of polish.  Guitar Hero?  The game that decided it needed giant man-pigs as an improvement?  No thanks.

We need one man, more than any other, to weigh in on this drum thing.  Alex Navarro, where is you?!  Stop watching movies for that other site and pipe up!

What the hell was that video?  I was hoping it was a  gag made by the Giant Bomb geniuses, but it felt a little too real in its incompetence.  Nice shot of pasty, hairy, scabby legs, Powergig.  Way to sell a game.

And the drums themselves look pretty awful.  When I play my fake Rock Band drums, actually hitting stuff is a huge part of the fun.  The cymbal expansion makes it even more so.  This thing gives Rock Revolution's drums a run for the Crown of Fail.

Gene Simmons alone practically kills it for me.  That guy is revolting, and I don't much want to support anything he might make money on.  Add this ridiculous Brutal Legend rip-off of a story, mix in Neversoft's usual crass aesthetic, and I'll pass.  I may rent it to check out their version of CBGB and try out the two or three songs on that list that interest me, but that's it.

And who wants to put money down that with harmonies and keyboards added to Rock Band 3, Bohemian Rhapsody turns up in that game in a much more robust form?  Heck, that would make a killer "debut tune" for the game at E3.

This may well be the game that gets me to buy a PS3.  I loved ICO and SOTC.  Whenever the concept of "engaging real emotion in games" comes up, I think of those two examples.  That team knows how to suggest just enough to hook into your feelings like no other.  The final, after-credits moment of ICO remains one of my all-time favorite gaming memories.  I can't wait to see what they do with Last Guardian.

I already love the gryphon thing.

Wow, this has a sort of "Going Out of Business, Fire Sale" vibe to it.  Do they really want to turn an entire game into a purchase incentive?  I guess a little figure or art book wasn't gonna be enough.  Still, given how flat-out greedy and evil Activision has been lately, a sweet deal like this is a pleasant change.  Too bad it also has a slight air of desperation.

I'm still not biting, though.  My money's going to Beatles Rock Band, and I'll either rent the new GH games or buy them for cheap later on.  (I got GH World Tour for 20 bucks brand new)
