I would have to say the Disgaea series of games. It seems like many people avoid it because it's an incredibly complicated SRPG, but if you actually manage to get used to it and actually play it the game is amazing! Plus it's got some hilarious writing and good characters. Disgaea 4 was pretty good in particular, I like Valvatorez and Fuka, very memorable, far more than the ones in 3 (though Mao was awesome).
I'm surprised to see you liked Silent Hill: Downpour so much. I'm a huge Silent Hill fan and personally couldn't stand it.
Though it had probably the most interesting concept of story and character in a SH game since 2, they completely ruined the chance they had with it. I feel like they could have done so much more with it. Also the enemy designs are god awful, and so few that I kept seeing the same enemy type over and over again!
Not to mention it had the absolutely DUMBEST final boss fight I've ever seen in Silent Hill...
