Okay from a girl's perspective: 

Tickets to a nice event (shows you have forethought and planning skills to think ahead, and that since you thought ahead you plan on sticking with her a little while longer at least) 

Take her vehicle to get it detailed inside and out (women are busy too, and this would be such a thoughtful gesture)
 
If you must get the Hello Kitty stuff, get a little change purse or wallet and put a heartfelt letter inside (and don't ask us here what to write in the letter ;O) 
 
The time you put into a gift is more important than the price. Make it special, since this is your first Christmas together.

Flying 1000 miles to be with someone special :) 
Hopefully no delays and no body scans or pat downs (it creeps me out)

I would NOT survive without skype. Without getting cheesy, it saved me :)

I've been playing this game for a few months, and I really don't think this game will see PS3 launch. If they overhaul the entire game, I'd never reroll just to play the new content. With most MMO's I play, I'm thinking about them off and on at work or at the gym, planning what I need to do next. FF14 doesn't feel like that, there just isn't a reason to want to play. You spend one evening grinding mobs for shard drops, the next evening crafting with the shards you collected, then back to grinding the next night. I like boring, repetitive, mundane things as much as then next girl... but this is really too much to bear.

After my marriage fell apart I feel into a depression slump, started taking medication, and talking to a therapist. The problem is... the medication makes you gain weight, and I wasn't really willing to do the homework the therapist recommended. So, I felt like an even bigger failure because I couldn't even do therapy right. I didn't know what to do, I had very little money, and fell deeper and deeper into a self-loathing hole. 
Two things saved me:
1. I met a guy who, for the first time, makes me feel normal.
2. I started running.  If you are a runner, you understand.
 
To the OP: Don't hide your depression in baggy clothes, find what works for you. Living with depression can manifest itself 100 different ways in 100 different people. If you want to feel better you have two choices, the easy way (buying larger clothes and pretending not to care what others think) or the hard way (where you shock the hell out of yourself by the amazing things you can accomplish). I hope you find the strength and motivation to choose the hard way.

Just wondering if anyone else is playing / has played this game... how how the freak do you get the blue and red briefcases to open?
