I was wondering if any of you knew of any quality EVE Online dedicated podcasts that you could recommend to people who are interested learning more about the game, specifically at a macro event level.

I played the game for about 30 min and just couldnt take it anymore, and I really dont have the kind of time to dedicate to this game to progress or contribute to the world in any meaningful fashion.

With that said, I am completely fascinated by this universe and wanting to hear more about how the different corporations interact with each other. I have done the high level iTunes search and downloaded a couple of episodes, but would really appreciate any recommendations you guys might have for getting more insight into this game and world.

I played EVE for about 30 min and decided I just couldn't take any more, but I remain fascinated every time I hear news or mainstream general gaming podcasts talk about the macro level events that happen within this universe.

Since I don't enjoy playing the game, but am interested in hearing cool stories and more insight as to how the different corps interact with and subvert each other, I'm wondering if any of you could recommend any podcasts out there that are devoted to EVE online and could give me the content I am looking for.

I've done the high level searches on iTunes and downloaded a couple episodes that I plan to listen to, but hoping some recommendations may help point my search in a direction that leads to quality content right away.

Very much appreciate your thoughts. Thanks.

I previously had an open disdain for JRPGs and their bizarre nonsense. However, I purchased this game after being intrigued by the unique and beautiful graphics and reading an almost universal sentiment from reviewers that the game is excellent. I was interested in trying something new, so picked this game up on a whim.

I am absolutely loving the game. I am 35 hours in, and it just keeps getting better and better. I would say even if you are someone who has little experience or interest in JRPGs, give this game a shot. It's got a certain charm/magic that dispels my cynicism and makes me wish I could spend all day playing it.

This game wasn't on my radar at all, but I ended up picking it up after a bunch of friends were raving about it. I'm 4-5 hours in and think it is good, not great. No real story (at least thus far), but the strategy and management elements are fun. This game will occupy a similar space to Halo Wars, it's a niche type title that will always be around for a change of pace, but it isn't a top 3 goty type title. At least in my opinion.

Thinking back, I wish I would have waited for a price drop to $40. I picked up the 360 version with a copy of Dishonored and decided to play XCOM first. Will likely put it on hold and start up Dishonored this weekend.

Everything was fine for the first 6 hours or so. Then I got to the foundry part were Karn follows you and the guardian makes the bridge. I was tired so quit out after first auto save.

Come to find out, I now have a game breaking glitch where Karn disappears and I can't get through the first part of the foundry. Need him to throw me over a gap but he has glitches out. Can't progress story. Gaaarrrrrrrrr.

Hobbies can be cyclical dude. Best of luck getting back on your feet, but it would be foolish to write off gaming forever.

@fullmetal5550: Make sure you buy at least a .40 caliber, hallow point ammo, always have a bullet in the chamber, and make sure it can fire regardless if there is a magazine in it or not. Also, take self defense classes. There is nothing worse than being shot with your own weapon.

Why you shouldn't buy a 9mm or .22 for home defense? Because a .40 round will knock the attacker into a recumbent state even if it doesn't kill them. A 9mm won't.

I'm a .40 fan as well, have a Glock 23 and Glock 27, but everything I've read about hydrostatic shock effects across calibers says the differences are negligible. 9mm is a perfectly effective caliber for personal defense.

Another "Authentication Failed" error here. Any thoughts on escalating?
