PSN is finally got good the past few years and both XBL and PSN are now offering services that make the money worth the while. Sure paying for online sucks, and they don't have to attach online play to the PSN service package, but PSN/XBL as a whole are good values. Much better then what XBL was like on the original Xbox.

Console gamers are used to paying for online, they also are not used to DRM or digital game distribution at all, which is helping Sony tremendously. Take the good with the bad.

- DRM: Microsoft are migrating from a media-based world to a license based world. The world PC gamers have been in for a long time. Everyone loves Steam now and I have no doubt that if prices are managed well the Xbox games on demand store won't end up being a big success Sony are going to have to make people jump a bigger chasm when they go discless (it'll happen). Mircosoft are just giving you some of the sting now.

That is a really big if that absolutely needs to happen. Low low prices on Steam is the main reason why I don't care about any of the DRM on that system.

-Always online: Is there anything in your house that isn't online? Have you tried using an IPad offline? Gets boring pretty fast huh? You probably check your smartphone every 2 mins for tweets or some crap...and you're bitching because Microsoft wants to rely on you having an internet connection? Don't you think in 2013 it can ask for that?

You know I really fucking hate how assholeish people have been about having a problem connecting to the internet. Not every single person has a smartphone or peoples internet connections could be spotty.

Who cares if its spotty, it's not a solid connection just a check in. I can't imagine there being much data streamed, although going along with this guys blog, MS should be telling us these things. If all you need is a quick check in basic 56k can cover is it really that big of a deal. But they aren't telling us what the process will be like.

Because I don't care. Nor will most of the people getting upset about this once they realize how awesome having every game you own ready to launch on your system, able to buy any game you want and be playing it hours later, and the great deals that come with D2D...

500$ for XboxOne is fair, if the PS4 is 500$ I would feel it'd be good value. I hope it is 500$ but I have a feeling it'll be more money due to the good tech in there. Under 500$ seems like wishful thinking, I don't know how anyone can really think it'd be under 400$...

NERVES OF STEEEEEEL

Good review there. Only caught blog 6 and 12, but I'm going keep an eye out. I'm waiting for Oculus rift before I get serious with racing sims. Already got the G27 ready.

Any chance you could make a sim racing guide? How to take turns, when to shift, etc? It'd be nice to have to do a video blog like this one and it be about when you should shift, how to run lines, etc.

You shouldn't bother to wait! It's amazing as is, and if money is no issue getting a nice 3 monitor setup+cockpit will most likely be a better setup then the Rift for a true to life simulator like iRacer. Although that could be 1500$.

Honestly, this is not nearly as bad as what people were anticipating, so color me content. I still won't be picking up an Xbone; but hopefully this brings about less vitriol towards Microsoft.

And that is what hurt MS. Not enough information and to much conflicting information.

Too much misinformation you mean. So many game sites reported outright lies under the guise of "anonymous sources". But they got the page hits. This isn't nearly as bad as Kotaku wanted me to believe.

The only thing that had me nervous was the kinect. But if it's true you don't need it at all then most likely I will be getting a XboxOne unless Sony pulls some really good exclusives from seemingly no where.

Oh please, new consoles were always using crappy gimmicks to get people to buy them. Now, however, the audience is 20-30 years old not 14 year old boys where they could talk about how "the blast processing makes the graphics so much better!" And I find it funny how you all are freaking out about this yet I'd bet almost everyone here has used steam without a problem for many years. Technology is our friend.

I got a drop immediately, but it was another free one. I'm sure the expensive heroes are super rare, and probably need someone of those rarity boosts you have to buy. They need more content or to make the heroes cheaper.

Played a bunch, still not entirely happy with it. Most frustrating thing is you need to click to both move and attack, which means you can't simultaneously attack and move, and sometimes you attack when you intend to move. It makes the game seem patronising and frustrating, while at the same time offering obscured complexity with it's items and crafting.

I like the characters they picked, though I wish more of them were playable; I'm still not happy about seeing 20 Captain Americas running around on the same screen. That's some Secret Invasion shit right there.

You should press shift to attack. Makes combat much easier then clicking enemies.
