@timeoflifehaver: Yes, though the correlation doesn't rule out alternative explanations to vote suppression.
The thing is, there are MUCH more knowledgable people than all of us here, who have studied voting laws in the US, who have definitively said, "No, actually, voter suppression is voter suppression." It's not imaginary when it's backed up by decades of data and even the personal accounts of those who wrote the laws intended to prevent certain people from having accessible voting.
It was just some inside baseball and we intended to start from the...intended time, so we trimmed it. Sorry!
No harm, no foul! The Behind-the-scenes banter probably detracted from the gameplay discussion in any case.
On topic, with the addition of the vehicle(s), I'm getting flashbacks to Fallout Tactics - but with a much deeper roleplaying and adventuring system. Humor is subjective of course, but it's a shame that they tried to go for the stale Borderlands-ish "woo hoo, we so wacky and edgy" tone in places. In any case, bugs not withstanding, WL3 seems like a general refinement over WL2.
@rorie PLEASE leave in the first 10 minutes of this QL; the definitive reason I've subscribed to this site for so long is because of the unscripted nature. Also, it's a great inside-look into the unique challenges that can be encountered when "working from home". :D
As to why Jeff would insist on covering the game, I'd guess it's partly because of this game's long dynasty (one of Interplay and EA's first titles ever, in 1988), the fact that it directly inspired the creation of Fallout 1 and 2 and the fact that the Fallout isometric-RPGs are now tainted with Chris Avellone's dark cloud.
Between the screenshake, the high-bloom lighting effects and the fact that every character is changing shape every second, I feel like it would be *impossible* to tell what's going on-screen at any given moment.
Also, this kind of feels like it's riding on the coat-tails of Double Dragon Neon 8 years after the fact. :b
Also, this so far seems like a natural refinement of the first Rogue Legacy...but I agree that the sense of humor seems five years out-of-date and a little tone-deaf.
I don't believe Ben gave a explicit reason for stopping the Fallout 2 playthrough, but as the other commenters mentioned, Chris Avellone is a POS sexual predator and doesn't deserve any support in his business endevours.
