@planetfunksquad: I forgot it was made in Flash. Yeah, precise collision detection has always been super annoying to implement in Flash, mainly because it's ridiculously costly, CPU-wise. Didn't know he was remaking it. I'd play that.
This is one of the few games I just gave up on. I just suck at it, and I don't have fun when I'm not sucking. I like all the items and the ways your character changes, and I don't think I dislike the controls, but I just felt some of the enemies, their attacks, and some of the collisions are frustratingly unfair. That being said, I'd love to see Patrick play it.
@dixavd: Yeah I think the thing there is them showcasing the two different eras of Robotniks. Maybe they're trying to paint them as different people in some kind of cute "other dimension" package, but I doubt it's real serious canon for the future. Fuck... listen to me. I'm becoming what I hate.
For those bitter about him firing all these people: it sucks, and you know Levine isn't happy about it, but it has to happen for what he wants to achieve. He doesn't want to stay with a large team developing things his heart isn't in, and they probably wouldn't want a director that had lost his enthusiasm. It's exactly like staying in a relationship that isn't working, even if you care a lot about the other person. You just have to rip the band-aid off. I should know. I watch lots of Downton Abbey.
Oh jeez. Listening to Rich talk on the UPF awhile back about investing his life into a project only to have it abandoned tore my heart out. I'm sure this just brings back tons of visceral pain... if it ever left at all.
I can understand a person wanting to fuck a computer lady. But this. This is something else entirely. Reminds me of a video I saw where a journalist went to Japan and stayed at a "cuddle hotel" (I don't know the real name) where he paid money to have a fully-clothed woman lie next to him for hours and not say anything. Some things I just won't ever understand... hopefully.
