I'm so sick of this crap where the publisher pads some other game's sales by offering you access to a beta for a game you do want.

I don't need a Superman game. I've still got my Superman 64 right here. It's all I'll ever need.

I think it's pretty sad that Brian Crecente is embarassed to play a game in front of his wife. My wife saw me playing SR3 many times. She said I must like fat asses because my chick had a big ass. We argued over the size of the ass many times. But I'm not embarassed to play any games in front of her. Just like she isn't embarassed to watch shitty reality tv shows in front of me. How can gaming ever be taken seriously when even people who are gamers and in the gaming media are embarassed by games?

That was my first problem.

Brian has just told me he updated the article to show Jason's true intentions. All he did was remove the offending quote. Jason said that Volition could make something that isn't embarassing. That's the same thing as him saying it IS embarassing. What I want to know is why the fuck is SR3 the game being thrown around as embarassing by ANYBODY? How about fucking Homefront? That game was an embarassment to THQ and caused me to take a much more cautious approach to buying anything THQ published. I even waited until I heard what the Bombcast had to say about SR3 before buying it. Oh, but Homefront sold a lot. Too bad sales numbers don't equal customer satisfaction.

I'm a pretty hardcore BF3 player and like none of this is enticing at all. It's irritating that they include B2k in there as most players either got it with their limited edition purchase or bought it afterwards already. All of the other things like dog tags and knives and assignments are pretty useless. The ability to save my 5 favorite battle reports? Yay. And this far into the game, who cares about double xp? Most people I know were only driven to hit 45 due to the achievement. I don't care what the number is next to my name since it really makes no difference at all to the game.

So I guess I probably shouldn't release Rocketpack Thrillride.

The thing I never understood was that they were using Reckoning to introduce players to the upcoming MMO. There are several problems there. No matter how great the backstory is, it will be yet another fantasy MMO. Reckoning already has a very similar art style to WoW. Do we really need another fantasy MMO? I think they'd be better off just making more single/co-op games as sequels to Reckoning. RI would be helping to fund a game that will not succeed, and most of those 450 jobs would be lost.

Maybe if the 3DS had 3 screens it would've sold better.
