As someone who cops to having what most would consider pretty uh, I guess juvenile tastes, I gotta say this looks like it could be some dumb fun in my book. I can see why average Joe would find it objectionable, the same way I understood why they found Manhunt or Postal and other similarly controversial games objectionable. But won't stop me from playing it, also probably liking it to some degree and I'm sure there's a niche group of others of a similar mindset that'll get a kick out of it.

The end of Red Dead Redemption... I won't lie, I bawled. Cried a couple times playing The Walking Dead also. Season 1. I teared up a few times in Season 2 but never full on cried.
That aside I can't recall anything but it happens more than you'd think, it really doesn't take much to trigger the waterworks for me.
"The sort of twee person who thinks swearing is in any way a sign of a lack of education or of a lack of verbal interest is just a fucking lunatic." - Stephen Fry
I've seen some folk react with a sort of disdain when someone waltzes into a thread with little more than a Stephen Fry quote but fuck it. The dude is right. I don't take issue with any swearing. Sure, sure. Not in front of the kids. But in a group of adults I'd like to think everyone could handle it like adults. That's to say if you don't like swearing, that's perfectly fine. But you don't gotta be a wet blanket about it.
About the only thing that really bothers me about it is how inconsequential the sims you aren't currently playing are, outside of your own interactions with them. In The Sims 3 they'd go on living their lives and doing things, they were somewhat interesting. There isn't really any of that here, so it's hard not to feel like it's a step back. But I'm still enjoying the gameplay and I'm sure they'll happily sell me improvements and fixes in future expansions and I'll eat it up 'cos I'm a sucker.
Hmm, I'm trying to think of how to put it into as few words as possible. I guess I would say I want "video game journalism" (I don't know what to fucking call it at this point) to contain less political, social justice, and agenda-driven bullshit. I've touched on it before in another thread, but I feel like these pieces are rarely about promoting and encouraging good ideas and more about shaming and condemning everything else that does not fit into certain ideals.
And this too. There's a place for it, but at the moment I kinda feel like every place is that place. I'd just like to be able to read up on GTA without the thesis on the impact of violence in games or click on anything even remotely anime related and NOT be subjected to "Well here's this thing from Japan. Hey there's boobs and upskirt shots in it. I guess this is just for misogynistic neckbearded scumbags."
But that's pretty much why I come here I guess, that stuff doesn't tend to dominate the discussion.
