Wow, I just started playing the game as I've begun to work through my pile of shame a little bit. I've been the same way, though I'm only like 2 hours in. I'm going to stick with it, mostly because I paid and bought the game and would like to see it through. I think so far my problem is with how Talion controls, getting around and trying to be precise has been an issue for me so far. But, I'm coming off of playing Arkham Knight, and just finished playing through Infamous Second Son and First Light. All three of those feel like quick ways to traverse an open world, which might be coloring my experience with Shadow of Mordor at the moment.

I'll stick with it and see where it goes, but my initial reaction has actually felt similar to the OP. But, maybe I can knock it out in a few days or even have it be a pick up and drop game, as it sounds like the story isn't good.

I think the right question to ask is how high are medical premiums in Gotham City, and how many people with medical disabilities have Batman to thank for that.

You'll get it, eventually. It was stated that all of the Pre-order bonuses will be given to Season Pass owners after some of the allotted time, which made it sounds like it was on a per deal basis with all retailers. I'd heard September was the month, but can't be sure. But, it was confirmed that all of pre order stuff will be doled out through the Season Pass. There was no word on that stuff being sold separately, though I can't imagine what price tag they could put on either Harley or Red Hood packs.

Btw, we're getting a "1989" pack where we get use Michael Keaton's B89 Batsuit and drive the Burtonmobile, along with two racetracks inspired by Batman Returns. So, the Season Pass was already worth it to me.

I've never understood why DC comic heroes like Batman and Superman don't simply kill the bad guys. What's the point in locking them away if they keep escaping to kill more people? Surely an in universe thought must occur in their heads where they realize that they are responsible for the lives the bad guys take because they refuse to kill them. Right?

Well...if they did kill their enemies, there really wouldn't be stories to be told, no reason to have monthly issues if all the bad guys are dead and buried.

But, for the mythology...they're supposed to be aspirations. They're supposed to be these idealized fictional characters that are half steeped in a world similar to ours, but ones we can aspire to be like. It's kinda like Star Trek, but rather than an entire setting, it's condensed into the morality and idealized aspects of a character.

But, I mean...it's a complicated answer that mixed between tradition, mythology, what a superhero is supposed to symbolize, and good old business that keeps the wheels greased and rolling.

The way I understand it, and it really depends on which source material you use (ie: Films, shows, cartoons, comics), but going by the comics...the key concept to Batman's code is basically intent. Having murder in your heart, and wanting to kill another person is primarily how Batman's code is defined.

Batman has inadvertently killed people in the comics before. I remember, specifically, a scene during Paul Dini's run on Detective Comics, before the New 52 relaunch, during his interesting self-contained single issues, that Batman tussled with a guy on a train platform and during the fight the guy had fallen over accidentally and went splat. I think a cynic would blame Batman, but I didn't view it as Batman having killed the guy.

Batman will also, without remorse, fucking cripple you. I seem to remember a side villain, someone from the mob that was the father of one of his love interests, having been confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life after a tussle with Batman. He'd met with Bats afterwards, tried to guilt trip him...but Bats was having none of that. I'd also point out 'The Dark Knight', where Batman dropped Maroni off a ledge and he was walking around with a cane for the rest of the film.

So, Batman won't murder your ass. But, you can die accidentally and you can get crippled...and it's kinda all fair game, really

I know alot of people think it's impossible to make a great, or even good, Superman game. But, I remember a time, before Rocksteady came around and made the impossible possible and made a great Batman game. Before that, everyone said the same thing about Batman, and how he'll never have a great game. If Rocksteady thinks they're up for the challenge, then I won't doubt them. And if not, then I still won't doubt them. I'm pretty much down for whatever they want to do next. But, I'd love for them to try and figure out the next 'impossible' comic book character, which for me is Superman.

I think it's hard to really tell this early on, because we don't really have much to go on. Batgirl's DLC is supposed to be out tomorrow, but even then we won't have a good idea still. It's just a $7 piece of DLC in a big $40 package. I have my hopes about what they mean by "legendary batmobiles", and hopefully a Christian Bale TDK-Batsuit. But, I'm a crazy Bat-fan whose an easy target on this stuff.

If you're not a crazy Bat-fan like me, who must get it because you really want all of the Bat-content...then I think the smart choice would be to wait and see. You can purchase Season Passes after the fact, even years after it's been put up and all the content released. You could make the best decision for yourself after all the content's been released, and you could have a better idea if it's worth it to you.

I bought the Season Pass after buying the game, and deciding I loved the game. But, again...I'm a Bat-fan who is an easy target on this stuff.

I'll watch it, for certain. I'm too big a Batman fan not to. But, I have no idea whatsoever of what to really expect. They seemingly keep adding major characters, that makes it sound like it'd need to be be a 4 hour movie, or just glorified cameos. It'll either be an amazing spectacle of a film, or a glorious trainwreck. Either way, I'm in.

I'm definitely looking forward to Ben Affleck's solo-Batman film, too. He's not going to be able to top Christian Bale, for me, and I'm expecting him to be bad. But, he's a great writer, and a great director...so him starring, co-writing, and directing a Batman film...I'd be very much down to see how that turns out.

@kubqo: That makes sense for PC gamers, but for Console gamers...saying updates implies Patches. And patches don't imply content, and not conveying content means you lose attention and probably means nobody downloads it, or just trades in their copy.

If the idea is to keep gamers interested, and holding on to their copy...the message needs to be conveyed that their getting content. And DLC is the key term for that. Unless paying for an update becomes a thing, that is. I think it's about being as clear as possible to even the lowest common denominator, which can be pretty low when it comes to videogames.

If you think CDPR is lying to us, and stripped out quests just to give it to us...I mean, then that's what you believe. I would say us not being charged for it for render it moot, since we've seen cases where it actually felt and played like content had been cut out (ie: Assassins Creed 2). I take them at their word that they worked on the content after the game went gold, which was also something mentioned in the Gamespot Witcher 3 preview videos that Danny did. There was the implication that the DLC could wind up delayed if they fell behind on some stuff, which might have happened since last week was one piece of DLC instead of two.

If the game felt like it had content stripped out, then I think we'd all have reason to be cynical about it. I think the fact that CDPR is giving us content for free, content that would cost something with other games...even alternative outfits for Triss or Yen would cost atleast $1 if it were another game, probably says more about the industry than it does about CDPR.
