I bought a $110 graphics card and upgraded my processor for $60 off eBay. All into a $500 HP I bought 3 years ago. I can play most on High and above. So yes, that is too expensive.
It's got to be the Fire Longsword Or the Drangleic sword over the Hiede Knight sword. At level 105, If still using a +10 Fire Longsword on with my Strength Build and a +1 Drangleic Sword as my backup (works better against armored).
The Heide Knight sword was awesome when I found it, but it quickly gets outdated by the two I mentioned above.
I really don't think Dark Souls 2 is harder. It feels easier, most in part since I've been summoning a whole ton. I'm really enjoying it. I would say check out 2 first, then go back and play Dark Souls and Demon's Souls (if PS3).
So i took Vinny's advice and bought the Club form the Smith. As a newb i am going for a strength build, and for now it was pretty much the best weapon, since it scales with strength. I would much rather prefer something nicer looking like a sword, but it works too good. i can one-two shot most of the normal size humanoid enemies.
i did the first 4 bosses (Pursuer and Dragonslayer took forever,) and am around lvl. 62.
How far/high are you guys?
I didn't know how to get to the tower the first time I went down there so I went through the ballista for a bit. I just ran through those 2 guys with some summoning help.
I bought that club, but I didn't like it. For strength I'm rocking a +1 Drangelic Sword, my previous was a +5 Fire Longsword. The Fire sword is just barely behind in damage right now. I have 33 Sgt, 20 Dex. Look into those.
@trafalgarlaw: ...or you can stop checking a chest three times to see if its a mimic. After destroying your first chest you should have learned. Welcome to Dark Souls.
You can't excuse bad design with "Welcome to Dark Souls.". Otherwise great game.
Not bad design at all. I did the same thing twice before i figured it out myself. Opened one trap and there was a crossbow that popped out, dodged out of the way. Now I open every chest with my shield up. If it's a mimic, you can see the teeth anyways.
If you take the petrified something gift and levee it in the the nest in the opening area you can get the white ring, which makes you look like a summoned phantom, I also have gotten a power full whip out of this trade, it seams to be a bit random.
Not sure about the petrified item, but everything else is a random trade from them. I stupidly used the soft shinny rock thing as an item and missed out on my first chance to get something.
In true dark Souls style I want these pre order weapons to be completely useless to reinforce that no one gets preference in this ball breaking series. You have to earn it not pay for it!
They seem okay, nothing special. I chose the class that starts with no shield, so getting access to a pre-order shield was very helpful.
Same.
It didn't update for me until later on...wish I did that. Anyways, they're kind just okay. I used the mace and large sword for a bit but got the sword from the first white knight duder you find and it blows them all away.
