Road Trip - Yellowstone, Mount Rushmore and more...

A good friend and I have been traveling around the USA, seeing the sights and eating the foods. Earlier this year we went through Utah, Nevada, California, Arizona and New Mexico. I made a video for that too, but it's kind of long. It's not paced very well either since there were days where I recorded a bunch and days where I recorded absolutely nothing. That was Road Trip 1. That's the past.

This blog is about Road Trip 2: Trip Harder: Origins. This time we went to Wyoming, South Dakota and Montana and saw Mount Rushmore, the Crazy Horse Memorial, Custer State Park, Bear Country USA, Devil's Tower, the Smith mansion, Yellowstone and Grand Teton.

Here are a few photos from the trip taken by Chris as most of my photos turned out really shitty.

The trip was a lot of fun and probably won't be the last trip we have this year either, as we keep finding new things to go look at. I want to do a trip where we go to each state and have their signature food item, like Philly Cheesesteaks in Philly. That sort of thing.

Anyway, here's the video for Road Trip 2:

Enjoy!

If you know of any neat locations in Colorado or an adjacent state, lemme know. I learned about the arches in Rattlesnake Canyon today, so that's on my list of things to see, alongside "The Fang" and the Kremmling Ammonite Fossils.

@hamst3r:

re: Colorado

You've got to see the Great Sand Dunes in Southern Colorado, they are crazy. It's like Someone just plopped a little bit of the Sahara in the middle of a Mountain Prairie.

Also Bishop's Castle is pretty effin nuts, it's entirely hand built by one man over decades.

Pike's Peak may be the tallest mountain in America that you can drive to the top. Has a Donunt Shop at the Top. No joke

Less, because I used it all up on the first video! I had to dive into my old breakbeats and surf music! :P

Wall is a riot because they take the idea of an old Western-y tourist town and blow it up to the point of lunacy. It doesn't hurt that they used to serve up one of the best chicken fried steak dinners I've ever had.

@sparky_buzzsaw: Ahh! We kept seeing signs along the road that said, "WALL DRUG" on them and were laughing about it. They so didn't make any sense to us, not knowing about Wall or it's drug store. :P

"Is that what the kids in South Dakota are hooked on?"

Yellowstone and the Tetons are nice and all, but Wall, SD is where it's at, tourist-wise. Your one stop destination for all things amazing. Terrific video!

Thanks, duders!

@the_laughing_man: WHAT'S YOUR BEST PIZZA PLACE?

@banefirelord: Grand Teton was indeed quite beautiful. I wish we could have spent more time there, but we were on our way home at that point.

We got a place call uncle vinnys. We also got the normal Pizza hut and dominos...I would say Vinnys.

Man, now I'm all homesick and sad. The family moved out of Wyoming (the state I had spent almost my entire life in) and out east a year ago when I graduated high school.

I firmly maintain that Grand Teton National Park is the most beautiful place in America.
