The Old Blood is meh. And a callback to the earlier games. 1 is the best one imo, but 2 does some truly great stuff both with the story and the genre so it's wise to atleast play 1 first.
As a white dude I'm sick of "only" seing white dudes in games. Especially from stories told by white dudes also. I love diversity becaus it makes everyone even a tin bit smarter to consume media from people that differ from them selves. So yeah, Rockstar still banging that drum bores me.
Also, RDR not counting Rockstar haven't released a game that I liked since GTA San Andreas, so I'm not having high hopes for this at all.
Hearing them both at the same time makes it sound like someone is having a buzzword competition. Too bad someone felt the right to copy someone elses work, and I'm glad IGN acted on it swiftly.
When it's obvious it's coming and I kind of care about the game, I'll wait for the GOTY-version. I can't really recall the last time I bought DLC for a game. I know I got the season pass for Mafia 3 but not sure if that's the latest game I got something for.
DLC should be stories the developers want to tell but don't want in the main story because it doesn't fit thematically or whatever. I always refer to The Xombie Island of Dr. Ned from Borderlands 1 when I talk about DLC not being part of the main game. Suc and awesome adventure not in any way tied to the main game but still the game none the less. It's a great example of why DLC is cool and what it should be. On the other side, you got Oblivion's horse armor.
Viking: Battle of Asgard. I just got stuck one day and along time later I returned just to fuck around and suddenly I found out were I was supposed to go. Really glad I did it, I loved that game. Also, Fallout 3. I bougt it the day of release, started playing, got stuck just after exiting the vault (I died everywhere I went) and over a year later I decided to try again and then completed it.
BO Paradise is one of those genre-enders for me. Just like Mortal Kombat 9 was for fighting games, I reach a point where I am no longer good enough to play like I feel the game wants me to, and don't care enough to put the work in to get better. Paradise was a fantastic game that gave me much fun, and I'm glad they remastered it so more people can experience what driving games could be way back when.
Nothing. I don't care about video games like I used to, and now I don't even follow the news to see what's coming. For one, I don't bother reading gaming news, because what a game is when announced and what a game is when released vary so much these days I just don't see the point. Two, the hype is never real anymore. For some it might be, but I just grow tired of it and it ruins my time with the game (wich I fully admit is my problem but a problem none the less).
I just see what's released, pick up a game from time to time and enjoy my state of no longer concerned gamer.
God of War. Everything. Everything is good. The fact that I am emotionally attached to Kratos and his son says a whole lot about how good this game is. It has some weird pacing problem where the story is kind of always starting and also close to the end for a long time and that sucks but the game is so good.
