I live in Europe and RARELY buy games here for the full price. I either import or buy on sale/used. 110 bucks (60-70 euros) is just too expensive and I have a pretty good salary. But if the games get MORE expensive I wil just rent them.
I think if she`d show at one point that she KNOWS how fake she is and make a joke about it, all would love her. A bit of irony and all of angry fanboys would just worship her.
And quite contrary to the common belief gay men are not more narcissistic than an average straight person. They are MORE unsure of their appearance. Why do you think gay men (I generalizin a lot) obsess about their appearance? Not because they think they`re God`s gifts to other gay men.
Why try to be something for the sake of formality? GoW creates it`s tension during gameplay, not during cutscenes. Some games ARE better if they don`t try to create deep storylines.
(For those poor, wretched souls who haven`t played this master piece: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outcast_(game) )
I am trying to avoid as best as I can the sweet, sweet nostalgia... but I am really missing Outcast. I mean REALLY. I still think that it is by far the best game I have ever played. And it`s been 9 (!) years since it was published. At that time I had a really low-tech computer and I had to play the voxel-graphic -based game on the lowest of the settings. I was pissed. But even thought it looked grainy I haven`t since that been so immersed in a game-world or in a story in a game. The Moscow-philharmonics music. The great saving system. The odd world. The orange shirt. The name "Cutter Slade". Beasts of burden. Sunny, lush world. So many imaginative things.
Anyone feeling me? Got any game suggestions to help my Outcast-addiction?? Any reason there isn`t more games like that anymore???
I couldn`t live without the 1UP Show and 1UP Yours! Especially when I used to go to the gym a lot I found it bearable ONLY thanks to the fact that I was listening to 1Up Yours on my iPod. I even once had a back injury `cause I started to laugh in the middle of a move. I subscibe to a lot of podcasts, but those two are my favourites by a mile. Especially when Luke Smith was on them. MY GOD that man is funny!
I just now started to subsribe to IGN again after I discovered that their Three Red Lights and Nintendo Voicechat -podcasts have improved. And yeah, they are hi-la-ri-ous ar their finest moments.
After all the funny men left at Gamespot I can`t listen to it. It is OK, but just that.
Aside from gaming related podcasts I am an avid listener of Ron Moore`s BSG podcasts. It is totally f*cked up that we don`t have them in the DVD:s. Especially the ones with actors like Jamie Bamber and James Callis are very enlightening; you get the sense of involvement from all of the cast.
