I would say that the Wii U is a mainstream product with niche appeal. As a Wii U owner, i can agree that Nintendo is supplying quality games for the system. But, their multiplatform releases are sparse and usually lesser quality than its current gen competition.

Your point of 60fps 1080p gameplay is hyperbolic to say the least. It has 1080p 60fps games on it. But, most ports and graphically intensive games on the system are upscaled and don't sport quality framerates.

It does have Japanese support. But, it still lacks content. You would hope that they would have announced a Persona 5 port or Ni No Kuni port. It just lacks the breadth of content to make it have wide appeal. It isn't a bad console. But, it is struggling.

  • Halo 5

  • Witcher 3
  • Fallout
  • Whatever the Forza guys do next
  • Fable
  • Sunset Overdrive
  • Quantum Break
  • Watch Dogs
  • Dying Light
  • Mad Max
  • Wolfenstein

Some of those are multi platform and I will buy they on one or the other depending on where my friends seem to congregate.

This is incredibly concerning. Don't do anything crazy. It always gets better, man.

No one says you need to pay full price. Want to pay less? Just wait.

@hosstile17: why do people keep saying "for a last gen game". The first thing I thought when I started playing Battlefield 4 on ps4 is wow this looks pretty much the same. the "current" gen is more of a memory upgrade and processing power upgrade than a graphical one.

Also I completely disagree with you about the menus and changing settings, I actually think they are fantastic. I love that you can just hit start and have access to all the settings and upgrades for your car.

The cars are much more detailed to a pretty wild degree in Forza 5. I own a Dodge Challenger SRT and all of the text on all of the gauges is correct, even down to the Sirius XM logo on the navigation system. It is exact to a degree that GT either can't or doesn't aim for. Also, GT6 has a good degree of aliasing in it that is common with last generation games. In addition to that, GT6 suffers from the same issues that you see when games are upscaled from a lower resolution, it just comes off a little dark. The game looks fantastic. But, there is a better looking racing game out there. However, there are room for both of them in all our hearts.

Also, designing that game like a web page from the 90s and hamstringing every one of those menus with a "DUDE, ARE YOU SURE!?" confirmation boxes sucks. I wish people would stop doing that.

I have really enjoyed parts of it. The graphics are great for a last generation game, although coming off the heels of playing Forza 5, the game looks a bit dim by comparison. But, overall the track and car detail are much better than GT5. The G25 wheel integration is great and the car variety is pretty staggering. The menus are still awful and changing settings is still incredibly arcane. All things considered, this is a much better Gran Turismo experience and I can't wait to keep digging in and finding more to love.

Happy racing!

I think much of the common perception isn't that Japanese developers make bad games, but that they churn out many games in well worn franchises and genres often without enough iteration. Nintendo is a company that rocks both sides of the spectrum. Pikmin 3 is more Pikmin, no more no less. Mario Galaxy is Mario and much more.

It is their way of trying to ensure that XBLA on Xbox One doesn't become a dumping ground for old ports. Probably a smart move.

I am a single guy and my orders are usually not more than $12-$15. I like to give $5. I didn't have to leave the house. So, it is money well spent on a cold night or if I have had a few cocktails.
