As someone who never played 3 due to it being on Origin and the fact that I made an arbitrary decision about that a long time ago, I cannot help but notice that the crescendo of this sidequest is the basically meaningless immolation of (if I recall the previous Mass Alex 3s correctly, which perhaps I do not) the only arguably-queer presenting major female character we've met so far. Likely the "main justification" for this was to avoid having to generate assets for her to participate as a sidekick in the rest of the game, but gross?? I stopped watching there and it wasn't Alex or Vinny's fault at all, I guess I'm just disappointed because overall it seemed like the writing had somewhat improved between 2 and 3 as it arguably did between 1 and 2. Great job as usual, Bioware. I'll probably watch the next episode of Mass Alex in any event, good series.

I'll put this in a spoiler block, even though #1 happened at near the end of this particular episode (I invite you to skip ahead and watch this.) But tl;dr - that wasnt the only character like that in ME3

#1: As shown in the end of this video, Cortez is gay and is mourning the loss of his husband.
#2: Samantha Traynor is a lesbian and available only as a romance option to a female Shepard
#3: Kaiden is revealed to be a romance option to a male Shepard.

@noval@wiseblood it looks like there's a lot of sources that say *in theory* Grissom isn't on a timer that Omega can run out, but there are several player testimonials around the internet that *in practice* playing Omega before Grissom results in Grissom failing

I haven't been able to find anyone who says they played Omega first and then were still able to play Grissom, but FWIW that's probably because the vast majority only go to Omega much later on

There is a long play on youtube from this dude ninjaflips where he does all the Omega DLC, responds to Miranda's email and *then* does Grissom so it has happened where Omega comes before Grissom. (Note: dude is a bit on one politically, but he does a real good job with character gameplay builds.)

God bless you kids (i'm *slightly* older than @vinny) for soldering on in these very weird times. As I listen/watch while also teleworking, that convo with Dr. Michel about hospitals being overrun hit hard. Anywhoo, your set up seems to be working fine. If you hadn't said anything, I would have thought y'all were in the same room so great job!

@alex point of clarification with James' power, your d-pad is probably working fine. You equipped James to "Incendiary Ammo" which is more of a passive power. Pop it once and he'll shoot fire bullets forever til you switch his guns (or the next mission). If you want to see an active power pop off, set James to "Carnage" which is more like a rocket launcher.

what are they gonna do about the galactic readiness? you can't get the most complete endings (no matter which of the 3 choices you make) without 100% readiness

At some point, they tweaked the system such that you can get all the endings simply going through all the single player content. I guess all the DLC makes up for the old app and even the need to play multiplayer. They *should* be able to max out readiness, especially since I think they get additional "imported character" bonuses as well.

For everyone talking about broken face imports, didn't both Mass Effect 2 and 3 have a text box that contained a number/letter string face code that you could literally copy-paste?

I mean yeah the automated process was pretty broke on launch but I remember the face code editor being pretty foolproof

So, at least in the 360 version, the code didn't work if you imported all the way from ME1. It just gave a generic face. However, if you had done any customization in ME2, then *that* code would give you "your" Shepard. All of them look a little different because of the ME3 engine, but it is pretty close.

For me, I had to recreate my FemShep as best I could using the ME2 sliders and putting that code into ME3. But I ended up changing a few things drastically (hair color, cheek gauntness) because the 'almost right' provided by the code felt more wrong oddly enough. (NOTE: I played the whole trilogy for the first time when Mass Alex started)

While I appreciate all three games for different reasons, ME3 was the one I thought was most fun to play. I hope @vinny can get @alex to get the rhythm of the biotic and tech explosions. They work great with someone who really only uses pistols anyway. He can ditch the assault rifle and ditch the sniper rifle and have almost zero power cooldowns. With "warp" and "throw" combined with Liara's singularity and James' Fire Ammo, you can just chain explosions from afar. I played as Adept and barely ever even used a gun. It was AWESOME!

Ahh, the sweet sweet memories. I would have no problem watching this *again* in it's entirety (and I *just* re-watched it last year).

Regarding class choice, I personally like going sentinel in ME3. Vanguard seems like tons of fun but with a high skill requirement: you're constantly putting yourself in the middle of enemies, balancing on the edge of disaster. If that doesn't sound like your jam @alex, it's fine to make another choice.

Such as the sentinel, who after one of the major patches to the way powers work, gets to sit behind cover and make enemies explode in literally every different way the game allows. Comboing powers is a huge part of what I think is cool about ME3's gameplay, and the sentinel gets to do it all.

I'd respec away the tech armor as soon as you're able, but that's just me. It becomes a real drag on the power-party in the third game IMO.

I went full Adept in ME3 and apart from the showdown with Marauder Shields, I hardly had to fire a weapon at all. The combo'ing of powers makes ME3 the one I enjoyed *playing* the most (still think ME1 is my favorite of the 3). But, in a way, I think Alex would benefit from being a soldier as he tends to play Mass Effect like a straight shooter anyway, only occasionally remembering that powers even exist. Either way, I cant wait!

Dan has enunciation and he’s not afraid to use it.

So, I was a 'theater kid' in high school and in our musicals, our director, Mrs Sohn (rhymes with own), would always badger us about being sure to enunciate our consonants. I still find myself doing that now 25+ years later.

Also, has Dan really never heard "Don't Speak?" He was singing like he had no idea of the melody.
