Today my wallet wept...

Today, after a period of reflection and reading, i went into a electronic store and found both the Witcher: Enhanced Edition Platinum Edition (confusing eh?) and Torchlight at 20$ each, and got tempted to buy them.

Those two games i throughly enjoyed them playing, Torchlight in a flat mate laptop, and Witcher in a second hand copy, as i didn't care much when it first launched, and the title became scarce and dificult to find.

And more than the games themselves, i care about the developers. That's something that most developers out there fail to create in me and in their clients. maybe it was their awesome and approachable attitude to gamers, or also their small size, but i care about them!

So i bought the two games! And to commemorate such a feat, i took some photos of them with my cell phone. It has some quality to it, although i've never thought of giving the camera much use.

So here they are. Excuse my lack of neck for this stuff, but it's night here, what makes it even harder.

In the above picture is the set that comprises the Platinum Edition, with - from top to bottom and left to right - the Game Manual (in black and white pages), the Game Guide (in color), the cover and the game case.

For the small price of 20$ seems to be a beefy set.

In case you didn't notice (^^;) , the game case, and the package case have the same front and cover.

And then we move over to Torchlight.

Torchlight is a little less substancial in terms of extras, but it has a nice Artbook, a big case and a Quick Start Guide. Still the game is awesome and that is all that matters!

In the end, i feel great about my purchases, although a little bit poorer. Both of them are awesome games, from great and small developers i love.

I'll happily play them in a little while. :D

Good work CD Projekt Red and Runic! You're Awesome!

And a small tribute, here is a photo of a small, silent but always present observer.

Torchlight is so tempting... I keep hearing great things about it, and I'm a huge Diablo fan...

Though you don't get all extras, The Witcher is currently $7 and Torchlight $10 on Steam with their summer sale...

I knew they would launch it, but they initially said they would do it sooner. Turns out it was in July.

True, but you should know that the team of developers that made Diablo 1 and 2, Blizzard North, most aren't with Blizzard anymore. And as such you shouldn't hype Diablo 3 heavily with your hopes.

And i'm not trying to make you interested. I just felt i should celebrate a little. :D

Torchlight was awesome, really filled a Diablo sized hole that Titan Quest could only barely fill.
I've tried the Witcher on two seperate occasions,  which I both quit  because I hated the fighting-system.

I should have bought Torchlight when it was 5 bucks on Steam, loved the demo. That Witcher haul looks really nice. I bought The Witcher in '07 and loved it. The later offerings by the publisher have made it a permanent piece of my hard drive.

This is funny since you could have bought both of them on steam today for around $15-$20 total.

Hehehe i'll think about it. Although i think you would get bored of the endurance run too as the game is really long. :)

Yeah, true. But i like having the hard copy, and although Steam is great, i don't like much middleware.

Thanks all guys for your feedback! I'm really looking forward to the games.

Play Dead Space in the dark with the volume high. It will make a new man out of you! It's a really tense experience.

I haven't actually ever gotten around to playing Diablo even though I have it. But from what I've seen of both Torchlight and Diablo 3, Torchlight just seems to be an homage to the Diablo series while Diablo 3 extends the experience. I'm really no one to judge though, celebrate as you'd like, I'm sure Torchlight is still a fun game :D

Yeah, but the creator's of Diablo 1 and 2 made Torchlight, so it's their personal homage. And it extends and refines the experience. It's a great game on it's own rights.

Check  http://www.diablowiki.net/Blizzard_North

Diablo 3 when it releases will be certaintly a great game, but it is unfair to expect something like the older ones.
