Oh, I see what you mean.  I meant "bargain bin" in the sense that nobody cares about it and it's all but been forgotten.  It's a bargain title in price but not in spirit.  I think the people who made those comments meant it in the way that "it would come and go and not be noticed". Also, your username isn't a reference to The American Astronaut, is it?  Just wondering. Most of the most famous gaming magazines  (except for IGN) scored this game a similar score --7/10 and above. 
I really can't see what's wrong with the score or the review itself, they both seem correct to me. And hell yeah, this games is way more ambitious than Alan Wake or Heavy Rain, this is no secret at all!
 
The game is awesome, it surely displays some ugly graphics and clunky gameplay... but it's still awesome. 
This may sound absurd, but it's actually true for this game. Maybe that's why it has become a cult title so fast, not many games can be both ugly, clunky and awesome at the same time!
