Kaens: Best Games of 2010

  • As I was playing this game I thought, "This might be my favorite game of all time!" Later after the dust settled I would put it up there, but still behind Zelda, Mario, Splinter Cell & Assassin's Creed games. Not bad company in my opinion!

  • I found out only about a week before it was released that this game even had single player and decided to buy it. HOLY SMOKES was I surprised. Rome is huge and atmospheric and now I really want to go there for real. Still haven't delved into the multiplayer but from everything I've heard it won't disappoint.

  • I'm a sucker for Splinter Cell games so naturally I loved this one. While the changes to make this more accessible to some are fun, to me it makes it less what I want. Still a winner in my book though.

  • After CE surprised me with so much freshness despite remaining true to the feel of the original, I wasn't even going to try this because I thought they were cashing in. Then everyone was raving about it and I have to say they did it again, this game is amazing!

  • I had a short but magical evening with this charming game. I don't care what anyone says, this game is well worth $15 since it's better than any damn 3D movie I've EVER seen (FU Avatar).

  • I despise all the dialogue tree in Bioware games (KotOR,Mass Effect, etc). I don't care for the voice actor reading the line differently than I feel like I'm reading it and having a different meaning. Plus I just read it and I'm a grown man, I don't need to have it read to me now! That's what is so great about this system. The three directions have brief descriptions and I know one direction is always suave, one smart ass, and one professional. So I don't even need to look at the stupid tree and I can actually watch the scene acted out. I played through this game 2-3 times, each focusing on a different style and despite the flaws I loved this game. A true hidden gem.

  • Crazy Japanese action game. I'm in! I think I do like some action games, but the art direction has to interest me and I like having some level progression.

  • Once I started playing this game I spent every waking moment until I had consumed all it had to offer. To me, there is no better compliment to a game than not being able to put it down.

  • You know, I never care when a Halo game comes up but I always end up playing them and enjoying myself.

  • I don't know if it was the insanely low expectations I had for this game, but it caught me by surprise and I was hooked all the way through. It's weird because I don't really care of God of War or it's clone. /shrug

  • I'm a sucker for these games because I love traversing the world. Few spots drove me crazy and this isn't the greatest game ever, but when I look back at what I had the most fun with this year I should include it.

  • This game gets a ton of shit for being really linear and insanely slow to get going, but I really loved the combat system and despite not finishing this game I'd be lying if I said I didn't have any fun. I'm a sucker for RPGs.

  • I've always been in the small niche of people that like the DDR games (even though I played them with a controller) so I was hyped by the E3 footage of this game. When I finally got to play it I have to say I was not disappointed in the least and have made sure all my family has a Kinect and this game!

  • Everyone always wants to make trendy cool pics for GOTY but there is a reason these games sell so damn many copies.

  • This game so so fun and charming and perfectly timed. I also snatched up the dlc when it was available.

  • Another surprise hit from XBLA. I spent 20 hours and loved so much about this game. I felt it was just the right size to because it ended right when I was getting tired of playing it (20 hours?)

  • This game was surprisingly fun.
