Yeah, what @charlie_victor_bravo said.

Also, if this was a program to spy on people for realsies, the kinect could probably extract a whole lot of information.

It doesn't just know if you're blushing and how long you sat in the pause menu. For starters, it parses spoken language to text for its command functionality to work. Dump every conversation anyone has within earshot of the microphone into a database and you could probably get something interesting with the right keyword searches.

That's just the microphone, not even touching the camera that can tell when you're doing the harlem shake correctly or not in Dance Central 2026. Not super hard to set that up to tell when you're fapping or whatever and post video of it to youtube. (Or something of actualy intel value.) :p

They are not doing this but if they really wanted to, they could.

They're just going to use it to tell if this or that ad was more effective and stuff like that, but still... why let them?

The main problem I have with this theory is... think about the manpower that would be needed for this kind of operation.

I don't know which reality you're from, but in this one it's 2013 and we've invented devices capable of processing information. I most commonly hear them referred to as computers.

Saying "Xbox on" when it's in a low power state seems pretty convenient to me. Also, most of us have a camera and a microphone 3 inches away from our dicks at all times. A camera in the living room is the least of our problems.

Of course it's convenient. Is it convenient enough though?

Convenient enough, that I'll put up with having an always on camera and microphone in my house? No.

I seriously doubt Microsoft is doing anything (especially) sinister with it, but the whole concept can go fuck itself.

You are of course free to think otherwise and install your monitoring device once it hits shelves. :)

I believe they've almost got Sims 3 caught up to Sims 2 in expansions and gameplay, so obviously time for Sims 4.

Look forward to buying the Sims University expansion once more, yay!

The issue is that it asks for confirmation to leave the page when I haven't written anything or even touched the text box.

Another Firefox with this issue here.

If it helps any I had this problem on the old site too using the Parchment(?) v2 comment box thingamajig, no issues after I switched to v1.

No v1 to switch to anymore though so I'd be glad if you could fix this somehow. :)

$50 store credit sounds much better than anything OnLive.

Hopefully they retool or complete redo the mechanics of the games...the games are too easy, as linear as you can get, and are way overpriced.  Also the humor was a huge letdown.

So, basically if they change the everything?
That could make me vaguely interested in the game. Maybe.
