I have a copy of too human still in the wrapping. Should I start planning a Tokyo raid?

Yes. Just think of how many Turbografx games you'll be able to buy with your profits!

Now that the election is finally over hopefully we can get together and get some things done. I'm talking to both parties. If both are going to drag their heels on everything then nothing will get done and Obama will go down as one of the worst presidents ever, and I don't want that, I want America to succeed, come on people lets stop the bickering and work together for our collective futures.

ahahahahah bipartisan, bitter politicians actually trying to compromise and get something done? good one.

I havn't heard those, but one change that is somewhat aggravating is the people who run up to you and annoy you now, are kids. Which means you can't kill them, cause we all know kids in games are invincible.

Can you just tap run to bump into them and scare them off? That's what I did with the bards.

Not totally relevant, but anyone else find it weird how Clover's character model is practically always smiling even though, often, that's totally inappropriate for what she's saying and the emotion in her voice?

Yes. I'm not far into it, just got past Crew Quarters (is there a reason it was some other order than 1689? I just tried all permutations and got the gold file and escape key) and this was pretty weird in the main area.

I'm glad this one has the branching Radiant Historia-style chart with the ability to jump to points. Fast-forwarding in 999 WASN'T FAST ENOUGH.

No spoilers necessary, but does this game ever go to the totally goddamn batshit stuff from the true ending of 999? That shit made my brain hurt, even Junpei was like "uhhhh this doesn't really seem possible, but whatever!" and it ended.

I'm waiting about 3 more weeks because ubisoft has decided people who prefer pc games are THE SCUM OF THE EARTH, and I've been wondering about this. I will also take "must be some sort of drunken wager".

Anyone who thinks Super Mario Bros is a really bad movie is just blindly following what other people say. It's a pretty good sci-fi flick that doesn't take itself or the source material too seriously, and it's better for it. Really good effects for its time, too, and fun set design. It's barely related to the games, but given that the games then (and now, really) had very little resembling a "story" I'm not sure how that's a bad thing. There are cool easter egg-y references to the games anyway. Also, Mojo Nixon and Fisher Stevens.

It seems the actors hating it is always brought up as some sort of condemnation on its quality, but that fuckin thing was a nightmare to make, so of course they hate it. Hoskins had his damn foot broke and filmed a lot of it in a cast. The directors and producers were constantly arguing about what direction to take it, and the script was getting re-written on the fly.

All things considered, I think it turned out really well. If you just watch it as some random sci-fi caper, it's definitely way better than popular consensus would have you believe.

Anyway, The Spirit is, I think, the only movie I just voluntarily stopped watching because it was so goddamn awful. I LOVED Sin City but hooooooooooooly god.

The worst movie is probably "Ernest Scared Stupid."

That's not even close to the worst Ernest movie, let alone all movies. (worst is Ernest Goes to Africa or maybe Goes To School or In The Army, best is Goes To Jail)

I'm not a big fan of Splinter Cell: Conviction, but the co-op in that game worked because they designed it around that idea. RE6 (and RE5 to a lesser extent) are in the same boat. Say what you will about the gameplay but by making sure the campaign worked as a co-op game first it made that experience fun and natural not shoehorned in as many seem to think. Hell, even Brad loved RE5 because of it. I know I'm shitting on him, but his beef was never with the co-op aspect of the game, which, I think at least lends credence to his disappointment with this new entry.

I thought Conviction was fine, but it was just really bad as a Splinter Cell game. But my point was that in all of them you had the SP, and then Co-Op. They were separate things, each designed with that in mind. If RE5 and 6 had done something like that, it probably wouldn't be as terrible, but I know I don't want to have to coordinate with a friend every time I want to play a game. If you fill a game full of co-op doors and add an AI that refuses to open them, that's a problem, even if you are "supposed" to be playing with a human all the time for this 30-whatever hour game.

I do kinda want a Brad/Vinny co-op QL Part 2 to see how that works, though.

@Shady: Yeah, pretty much. Shooters are just identical derivative garbage for the most part.

Anyway, I liked RE4 a lot, actually. But then with RE5 they decided to turn the series into a shooter, but forgot to actually give it controls that work for that purpose. Also stupid shoehorned co-op bullshit. How is it that, many years later, Splinter Cell is still the only series to get campaign co-op right?

@Shady: That's true, looks like you use your thumbs and fingers for the dull combat in RE6.
