This is about business and increasing market share it's not about AAA launch titles it's not about how much juice is left under the hood of the current consoles or how many units of the current consoles are selling it's about being the first out the gate Wii 360 PS3 all came out in that order and lead in that order of course price was also an issue but I am sure Microsoft has considered that 2013 is too late it's time people it's time

This is not what happened last gen...it was E3 to release in the same year for the 360.

This is why my money says the Edge article is spot on. And it's time anyway...consoles are still getting sweet games, but they're pretty much tapped now and devs are complaining about what they can and can't do with the limitations of the current systems, and the console-centric development is hurting PC games by holding the games back to current gen standards for multi-platform releases.

Sony doesn't want to be a year late to the party after ruling the PS2 gen and only tying the current gen, and MS is still trying to fit games on a DVD. It's time. Not time for a major step forward, but the current gen is just under-powered and needs an upgrade.

yep people need to understand the first one out the gate gets an automatic lead Microsoft would pull this move it's a brilliant strategy it would hurt Microsoft to go head to head with Sony who has strong first party games Sony is banking on Vita so the PS4 isn't their priority now

Microsoft killed off the original Xbox early for the 360 and they would do it again
