The only thing holding valve back on team fortress 2 is that MS won't allow them to release content for free. At least initially, look at halo. Epic also wants free content but also had to settle for either commercially paid content. LikeĀ Gears 1 had a map pack was sponcered by a discovery channel show, or that it becomes free if you waited six months or so.

Valve has said that they wiil put all of the PC DLC on 360 in one big pack so what ever the price may be you will get your money's worth (think it's sometime after the next big class update)

That said, they are trying to speed up delivery of DLC this time around. they have mentioned putting out a flamethrower pretty soon for L4D.

here's hoping everything happens according to plan........

Amen brother, people need to curb the "lone wolf" syndrome in order to get anywhere in this game. IT'S COOPERATIVE FOR A REASON!!

Sorry for the yelling but, it frustrating when you can tell someone just got done playing Halo and tries to play this the same way. (complete with bunny hopping.....)

I have been craving a Meaty Coop game for a long while now,Ā and leave it to Valve to nail it!!Ā

I love how valve madeĀ a bunch of design decisions throught the game to make all of players work together. Like getting slowed down when you are hit, needing every team member the helpful in game character chat (like when they shout out weapon caches, or when thay are realoading-beleve it or not that helps!), and curbing the "lone wolf" syndrome that plagues most online shooters.

They were able to make a creative versusĀ mode that is not only creative & fun, but unique as well. As an infected I have had to make up stratagies on the fly that I never thought I would in a game. Each of the infected has a unique playing style with the hulk-like tank taking the cake in terms of being a riot to play.

Only downside is hoping that Valve can get DLC on the 360 quickly.

Games likeĀ The Darkness, Half-Life ep. 2, Bioshock, and Fallout 3 and many more focus on story first. so those actually got to me. Gears 2 story was all over the place in my opinion. If epic planned ahead and put more story seeds in the first game it wouldn't feel as forced as it does here. Hell, the company that does the commercials for this game (the mad world trailer, and the new one) had more feeling in them than I got from both games.

That said, did anyone miss the scares from the first game? I was hoping for more from the bezerkers, those sections were cool and made BOTH me and my friend panic in co-op. hoping RE5 will capure that feeling again because gears 2 dropped the ball. though that my opinion I could be wrong...

Getting it to support the franchise, but the $40 price tag (with theĀ $20 square enix tax too boot) hurts. Does anyone else think that square needs to stop gouging the fans?! this should be $20!!

I missed the boat on alot of great early 90's PC games like The fallout series, planecape: torment, system shock, and was wondering if anyone has heard of a rerelase of the classic?
