Yes, they should tell us that the frame rate on the console isn't very stable. The comparison to the PC version is valid and is something they should do when they have the games side by side like that. But they don't have to act like they are seeing their parents 69ing every time the frame rate drops below 30, or jack off to 60fps while saying the console versions aren't "the real version". I dislike a bad frame rate as much as the next guy, but I also dislike when grown men (mostly Brad, some Jeff) FUCKING MOAN about frame rate in a video game. And why didn't they show any multiplayer or coop? Is any of that stuff any good?
He literally said it should be more like Call of Duty.
No he didn't.
ignoring obvious enhancements like big-ticket sequences and proper iron-sights mechanics in favor of their age-old addiction to slow, methodical combat in unnecessarily large environments. And while I get that 343i was deathly afraid to come in and mess with the elements most consider Halo canon, it’s a lot to ask of us who play other games in the genre to continue to stomach a core most left behind half a decade ago. Mind you, some folks might find the videogame equivalent of being forced to eat your vegetables a comforting alternative to Microsoft putting a dash of modern in their combat, but when stacked up to Dishonored, Far Cry 3, and Black Ops II, Halo 4’s campaign feels as empty and uninspired as its strong, silent protagonist.
Sure, he didn't say "it should be more like call of duty" word for word, but he said it would be a better game if it was more linear, scripted, and had iron sights like other games including call of duty.
I lol'd when OP said HL2 had "genius puzzles". I remember see-saws and extension cords.
But anyways, these games cost a lot for a reason. As for Halo 4, MS had to build the studio from scratch. They gave 343 a blank check to ensure a quality game. They used performance capturing (Avatar tech) for the cutscenes, and the faces look better than any game other than LA Noire because of it. All of their cgi (seems like there will be quite a bit due to spartan ops) was done in house (and it looks damn near life like). The Marketing probably cost a shitload with all of the mountain dew, doritos, and that web series with that narnia girl in it. The game looks great for being on an xbox and I've heard they put a lot of effort into their tech to make it usable for next gen.
Plus how is it being MS most expensive game even surprising? What the fuck else would it be?
Wait why didn't they get the same guy that voices master chief? Is his voice off or what?
Sounds close to the voice actor for 4.
Also, on the topic of this episode.. holy shit, they made the needler fucking MENACING. And the size of the weapons compared to the humans..
Hey, Hollywood: MAKE A MOVIE.
That sucks. I can't believe that he's Master Chief without the voice. :/
This is supposed to be a few decades before the games or something. I remember them saying it wouldn't make sense for him to sound as old as he does in the games.
