"The main issue here is that gamers feel they are entitled to this new content as part of Valve's commitment to the original Left 4 Dead."
How childish is this? Why are you entitled to it? Did Valve promise you children that you would not get a Left 4 Dead 2 for Christmas next year? It is not your right to pay for a game and demand things for it. The developer chooses whether it's in their best interest to offer new content, make a sequel, stop supporting the franchise all together. You can expect things from it, and be disappointed, sure. Whether it's an incremental sequel or not, you are not entitled to say how the game is released, unless you have a vested interest in Valve. You can not buy it, fine. But Valve is staying true to what they've stated about the support for L4D, even though they are releasing a sequel to the game. They didn't trick you, you haven't been deceived, they just happen to be releasing another game in the series ON TOP OF support for L4D 1. If anything, they're working harder for you.
The real issue for you isn't that it isn't enough content. It's that you know you will buy the sequel even though they are going to continue support for the original, because it'll probably be such a dope game that you can't resist. Please stop being pathetic and whining and go get your money's worth out of the original.
@ryanwho: Naw, not a coolness factor, it's just the dilemma that I have. I know that I'm not guaranteed a spot to see the giantbomb crew, PAX is PACKED, and I'd likely have to just chill waiting for them for an hour or more. The rave is cheaper and I'm fairly broke. Plus, my friends are going to be going to the rave and not coming along to a gaming convention unfortunately. Buuuuuuuuut I do love Giantbomb and the crew. Maybe I'll take out a payday loan or something lmao.
If they've bought 2/3 of a Blazing Angel's game, History Channel game, or Cabella's game I know they don't have very good taste and probably have no idea what Super Metroid is. That doesn't necessarily make them a "fake" gamer though. They're just like the people that enjoy the epic/disaster/scary movie serieses, I could never have a real conversation with them about games/movies.
I typically listen to it while playing sports games, especially if I'm doing a franchise mode thing. Also before bed, and yeah, I do usually fall asleep, but I just pick it back up the next day
