I don't really think there is such a thing as RRoD free. But the chances will be much slimmer of said event happening. Just don't cradle your xbox in a towel, and you should be okay ;)
Right now, yes. In the future, no. I don't think it will ever get to that point, simply because of the Japanese culture. No matter about the fact that Microsoft was able to get quite a few big Japanese names to make/help them out on a good number of decent games, but Sony is a Japanese product.
I think the ties would tend to hold true to Sony, although Microsoft definitely does have the upper hand, both in terms of quality and quantity.
I just checked out newegg when I saw this forum topic, and a 120 gig drive costs just as much as a game does guys. Ya'll could just wait another week or two to get that game, and spend the budgeted game money on a new drive, and theoretically triple your hard drive space.
I'm totally in the camp of pre-game installs. I have a history of gaming on the pc, so I have absolutly have no problem with the install. Just read the manual, get a drink, take a leak, whathaveyou. Even in MGS4, the mid game installs are kinda nice, to give you a breather from the pure awesomeness that is MGS4.
Flower - way interesting concept, and just a game to kick back with. Shadow of the Colossus (2?) - come on, after playing the first, how can you not be totally stoked for the next? . . . . . whenever it comes around. Final Fantasy XIII - I despise the recent switch over to 360, but I'll still live. Just want to see how the first FF for this generation holds up. Will it be like FFX? Beyond Good&Evil (2?) - If it follows the first game in any manner, it'll be totally worth 60 bones.
It's kinda simple actually. Its lucasarts man, and George Lucas is in charge . . . . . . . . just like the prequels. George isn't going to let a game player take control of the 2nd (1st?) coolest character in that universe. Plus, I don't think we're ever actually going to see a true dark side game, where the dark side is played exclusively. Probably wants to keep a relatively family friendly image - gungans/ewoks?
And just to keep a constant image in our minds of Vader. All we really see him doing is walking around with very short bursts of action, via movies and now this game and SCIV.
Ya'll want to know a really nice way to avoid that perk? Stick to the hardcore modes of play. I nearly always play hardcore team deathmatch, since I don't see the point in putting half a clip into a person just to kill them, hence my sticking to hardcore.
Yes, it would be pretty neat to sit and watch something strictly meant for an audio format. It's a podcast, and for the most part, it should probably stay that way.
My one request would be to tripod the camera, and record the first 15 minutes of each Bombcast. Or however long it takes to get past the drinks. The one time they did it, it was totally priceless watching their expressions whilst the drinks were consumed.
