I would say no to alchemy.  If you want a pure mage you will have low strength and thus wont be able to carry a lot of mushrooms and pumpkins, unless you want to be constantly casting feather on yourself. All your potion needs will be met by the shit you find in the world.

i just got to the elite four like 20 minutes ago but decided i should go to bed... err giant bomb. My suggestion to you is to grind levels on the actual elite four themselves, likely get a hell of a lot more experience per battle, not to mention you dont have to endlessly kill god damn golbats and fucking gravlers. you should give your mom all your money first so you dont loose anything when you fail to beat the four/five. remember you dont lose xp when you die just money. 

i have 2 assignments for 2 classes due tuesday. one is worth 60% of my mark the other is worth 10%. i should probably get started...
