Seriously, you guys, this game is great. It's easy to be a cynic and cry "what full price for a 2D platformer why release it now nope not gonna buy it." But seriously. Don't be a cynic. This game is great. It easily has enough content to justify full price, it's super creative all the way through, and it plays amazingly well. This is the best platformer in years, and yes, I am counting Nintendo's recent offerings. If you're standing in the store looking to spend some money on a game and trying to decide between this and, say, Saints Row, then get this. Saint's Row will be there later, and doesn't need the support this game does. We need to buy more games like this at release and send the message that, yes! we want more games like this! It's not a risk to make a game without guns in it! We want more games that are this gleefully celebratory of the medium. Well, at least I do...

I've paid full price for 2D platformers (*counts*, NSMB, Epic Yarn, Return to Dream Land, Donkey Kong Country Returns, FlingSmash, LittleBigPlanet, LittleBigPlanet 2), at least 7 times in the last 2 years, so the whole "lol 2D nope" thing has baffled me for ages. Those aren't even counting the DS games I bought new either. Glad to hear yet another good 2D platformer (seriously, they've been on a huge come back in case no one noticed) has landed, but let's not pretend it's the only full price worthy one.

Hmm, I was in a different situation, owning both a Wii and PS3 but preferring gameplay improvements over graphics/trophies. If there's no serious control improvements through motion or integration with the 3DS version that's coming or anything, then I'm definitely going for the PS3 version.

Mass Effect 1 on Steam for 10 bucks. Metroid 2 on 3DS. Will be buying Rayman Origins next week instead probably.

Square RPG's may be some of the most over LP'd games out there. But it's not Ocarina of Time (the most over-LP'd), and that's good enough for me.

If the game is good I don't care what "type" of game it is. I bash FPS's all the time but even I'll readily admit that Half-Life 2 is a fantastic game.

Damn you. Well since EA didn't bother to bring the first Mass Effect over for PS3 and thus my time with ME2 felt like BS that I didn't care about, I guess I can spend 9.99 for ME1. *goes to Can You Run It* F*ck I can, and it says it will work great too. BYE BYE MONEY.

Fairly self-explanatory: you would hypothetically be paid a fair sum of money to be a "smoker." You could stop whenever you want, but then the money stops coming in.

For the purposes of this poll, a smoker is defined as: a person who 1)smokes approximately one pack - or slightly less - of cigarettes a day, every day; 2) inhales the smoke when drawing from the cigarette; 3) smokes the entire cigarette every time. Furthermore, you would only be permitted to smoke medium-strength cigarettes of American burley tobacco, but you may choose menthol if you so desire.

Also (as per concerns by one of the above users): cost of the cigarettes and lighters/matches would be fully covered by Uncle Moneybags.

Well that answers all the questions I would ask. I wouldn't do it for 500 a month, but 5000 a month I would, I'm gonna die young anyway.

Or there was no 3rd party support and shit ton of shovelware . Plus the good first party stuff was few and far in the cycle.
This.

Every time someone goes for the "shovelware" crap argument I point them to the library of the PS2. There were far more third party games, yes. There was also a SHIT TON more shovelware that no one ever mentions, and yet it had the best library of that generation of games.

But this topic is using the term "hardcore" in a serious, non-ironic manner, that makes it just plain bad. Stop the hardcore/casual divide, it only makes gaming worse for everyone.

It's 3D Land, the Super Mario is in 3D Land, not Super Mario Land in 3D.

In other words 3D Land would be a separate place from Land (i.e. Sarasaland). But obviously not a separate place from The Mushroom Kingdom. So maybe it's a province of the Mushroom Kingdom or something. Anyway the point was that it's not Super Mario Land 3D for a reason, and that reason is the one in your most, it's Super Mario: 3D Land (actually them including this simple colon might have made threads like this non-existent. Not likely though.)
