Wait, what is this thread about at this point?

I thought it was about Israel's Prawer-Begin Plan and discussing a government possibly taking terrible action against a minority, not about the supremacy of secularism. Most of this thread has nothing to do with the already precarious topic.

I guess you can consider this thread derailed, but this is why discussing Israel is like stepping into a mine field, the historical factors and the religious factors are entwined with the whole problem.

But I don't think those discussions are necessary for a solution like @turambar suggested.. The solution is for a a force to forbid Israel from robbing and oppressing the minorities and no longer giving everyone a back seat to the first class Jewish citizens. The solution is to make it a real democracy where citizens of all ethnic groups are equal. To make it a state for all its citizens.

But since the West led by the United States does not have an actual conscious and will continue to support this tyrant, and since intervening in the domestic affairs of a foreign state is tricky and frowned upon, a third Intifada is at hand.

It already started this Saturday in a few major towns, including a massive protest in Haifa met with violence. A third Intifada is right around the corner..

This fight is too old and to be honest when the fight started Islam, Judaism, and Christianity were of equal strength so the "who threw the first stone" is pointless. Sorry, I don't feel bad for any side. Everyone has blood on their hands, so I'm not going to pick a side on a squabble that has played out for 1,300 years. As an Atheist I'd just wish they'd all STFU about killing in the name of their skyfairy or owning land in the name of their skyfairy.

Again, what you're saying is irrelevant to the content of this thread. Israel is forcibly displacing its own citizens based on their ethnicity and giving their vast land to the ruling ethnicity while moving the former to shitty housing projects. No one is talking about religion or drawing first blood, no one is talking about history, this is current day.

This set-in-stone view of some of the people in the west that consists of "fuck those holy wars" without looking into the daily details of atrocity taking place by this government is really not helpful.

I realize this may be an unpopular opinion but I spent close to a month in Israel and its surrounding area (not a whole lot of time, I admit) and I am a firm supporter of Israel and basically everything it stands for. The Israeli people have been fighting since the creation of their state against enemies on all sides (pan-arabists, radical groups, terror organizations, openly hostile neighbor states) who would love nothing more than to wipe the state of Israel off the map. Israel has repeatedly defeated its attackers whenever they have attempted to start shit, despite being horribly outnumbered in almost every instance.

With regards to the Palestinian issue, I will definitely agree that the Israeli government has been overaggressive, but that is only in response to the Palestinian groups and their supporters that have been attacking Israeli civilians for decades. Yes the Palestinians were there immediately before the creation of Israel, but the Palestinians that still wait for the day when they can move back into their family homes from sixty years ago are living in a dream world. I really think a two state plan is the best option, and if last year's elections in Israel are any indicator then I think that resolution on that front is on the way within the next 10-20 years.

Finally Israel serves an important function as a positive economic and social influence in the region, which is one of the important reasons that US support continues. Israel is the most prosperous non-oil tycoon state in the region and has also embraced women's rights and a stable parliamentary system while many of its neighbor states are still subject to sharia law and government.

I happily admit that Israel is not the poster child for human rights in the world today, however more often than not they are, in my opinion, unfairly misrepresented as a bully in the Middle East.

Um, we're talking about apples and you just wrote a big chunk of text about bananas and oranges.

This thread is about the domestic cleansing of Israeli citizens based on their ethnicity, forcibly pulling them out of their homes, demolishing those homes and giving their land to the ruling ethnicity while deporting them to crowded housing projects.

I appreciate your misinformed stand on the prominent Israeli issues, I am aware of their propaganda machine towards foreign visitors and it's sad you're another one of their victims, but that is not the issue here.

So please read before blindly defending Israel on issues irrelevant to the discussion at hand. That will make you seem a bit more thoughtful.

It can only hold 5 pounds, and it has a 10 mile radius around distribution centers. Most of the things it is transporting are probably going to be cheap like paperbacks, shampoo and razors,

p.... people use delivery companies to get their shampoo and razors?

Is walking down to the nearby store to fetch a bottle of shampoo too oldschool now? :/

What the fuck are people doing on this planet.

Let's suppose that Arizona of today is mostly populated by Latin-American citizens who live in villages. What would be your opinion if the US government displaced 70 thousand of those Latin-American citizens (by force, they have no choice) and demolished exactly 35 of their villages in order to build modern homes and communities for Caucasian-Americans? And then rounded up the 70 thousand human beings and moved them into a handful of crowded housing projects?

This is happening next month in US-aided Israel, in the Palestinian desert (Naqab or Negev), to the native Bedouin residents. It's called the Prawer plan. They are Israeli ci-ti-zens.But because of their ethnicity, they are second, nay, third class citizens. Jewish Israeli's are the first class.

Here's 50+ British public figures who sent a letter to the government of Israel to condemn their ethnic cleansing policies. http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/articles/526403/20131130/palestinian-bedouins-negev-prawer-begin-plan-jemima.htm

I'm just wondering whether any of you realize this is a reality in 2013? A US ally is doing this disgusting shit.

Ezio has been my homeboy for years.

I appreciate your efforts and persistence but this is all pretty pointless, Garrus is winning this thing. In both male and female categories.
