Games Beaten in 2018

Games I completed in 2018. Games with the tag "new" are ones that I completed for the first time.

"Hollow Knight is a love letter to the 'Metroidvania' sub genre. Everything you wish for in a game like this is there, front and center. Beautifully done in every aspect, it defines the genre itself. Team Cherry has created a masterpiece that will be remembered forever."

  • 10/10 (Game is 10/10, story is good also)

"Life is Strange: Before the Storm is a prequel to the critically acclaimed title "Life is Strange." Taking the reigns from DontNod Studios, Deck Nine introduces the haunting story like no other company could. It makes the already incredible 'Life is Strange' even more magnificent."

  • 9.25/10 "100%" (Post Dragonsong War Era)

  • 8.25/10 "New"

"Without it, there is no telling where video games would be today. An obvious masterpiece, and easily one of the greatest games of all time. The imagination and heart put into this game is unparalleled, and can only be found in other Super Mario titles. Game feels a bit stiff by today's standards, but that shouldn't scare anybody off."

  • 7/10 "New" (Pure nostalgic rating, not sure how I would feel about this game if I wasn't a Sonic fan.)

"Beneath the goofy dialogue and classic Sonic storytelling lies an incredible journey that satisfies Sonic fans and platforming fans. The gameplay might not hold up well today, but it still is one of, if not the greatest modern Sonic games ever made. With groundbreaking level design (for 2001) and a soundtrack that could compete with any game nowadays, it is a pleasure to play and watch."

"A frustratingly good game that still brings enjoyment, even in 2018. Armed with your deck of generation 1 favorites, this game is a fun time killer that scales in difficulty as is progresses. Deck building is a must, and tests the limits of your skill. Boasts an incredible soundtrack. The game is HEAVY on luck, but is to be expected with card games."

"Hand of Fate is a fantastic concept that delivers in most parts, and fails in others. Luck is a huge factor, and the actual gameplay can be frustrating due to a faulty camera and movement glitches. However, if you can stomach said issues, you are in for journey, led by one of the most unique characters in recent history, the Dealer."
