I'm not a woman. I'm a white guy. So grain of salt and all that. But in the search for equality one would think, if you were an advocate, you'd want to go out of your way not to, even if accidentally insult people. In the same way a woman, if she'd been hired might be referred to as just a diversity hire (her professionalism discounted, by internet douchebags). To then refer to two, I'm sure highly professional and personable guys, as another couple of white guys, isn't that just as egregious. You're demeaning their careers just because of their gender and race. Two things you'd like to claim don't matter, and should have no outcome on prospective employment. When it's entirely possible, and I'm quite confident likely didn't in this case.
To ho hum that another white guy got hired. Whats wrong with white guys, nothing makes them a better choice, but nothing makes them worse, it seems a pretty snap, decision and hypocritical argument that anyone, hired on merit isn't going to be as good as anyone else. Why does it matter if they're white guys at all. An opinion, is an opinion, a point of view, a point of view. There is no one 'white guy' line of thought.
Having said that, to attack someone personally is atrocious and the people that have should be ashamed of themselves. If you can't diplomatically and intelligently discuss your thoughts on someone elses opinions. Then don't, go yell at your wall or something. You owe the women in question an apology and the greater GB community for sullying a otherwise fine reputation.
