Go back even further to Pong, and the difference is even more staggering. Heck, even go back five years to the launch of the 360, and what we once thought was all great looking now looks like crap.
Finally, some footage of this! YES! I've been waiting so long for this, the ultimate SyFy movie! They haven't had a title this stupidly great since Mansquito! Edit: Just watched it, and I am ready to declare it the best bad movie ever. Well, the best SyFy movie ever anyway.
The Prince of Persia movie was pretty good...And I still think that the Halo movie would have been pretty good...
So far as other games go...Well, I think somebody's working on an Uncharted movie, and that could be good, but even if it is good by video game movie standards, I doubt it'll be anywhere near as good as the games.
I think that saying it has no inventory system isn't quite true, it's just that you can only carry what could realistically be carried. Admittedly, I too wish that there was a lot more loot, but I also kind of liked how what you could carry was more realistic.

What the hell? Starship Troopers is an incredible film. You do realise that its a satire, right? Its supposed to be cheesy. How can it be the worst film ever when its so entertaining? "
That was satire? The one time I tried watching it on TV I got so bored I gave up after half an hour. Are you sure they didn't just try to claim that it was satire after making it and actually watching it?
And here I was thinking that it was only here in America where the younglings are a**holes. Turns out I was wrong. Stupid kids, they ruined America! (And apparently Australia).
