I love this game, but Jess is right about a lot of her points. The controls are a bit slippery and take a while to get used to, but this is mainly due to them carrying over the 2D DS, Wii and WiiU game physics to a 3D platformer. Multiplayer is way too frantic and my partner quit after a few levels and preferred me playing and her pointing out where hidden stars/stamps might be.
Anyway, fun UPF. Good hearing seasoned views of the game from Grubb and Dan and some newbie views from Jess and Jan. A team that can talk about their personal critiques, still have some fun playing together and bring a level of energy and excitement is why I tune in. Thanks GB!
@pajamuraix: Good pitch. Needs a backstory where the Koopa Crime Syndicate destroyed Waluigi's Flower Shop to buy up the property on the cheap-cheap for their control of the Mushroom Kingdom. Every Koopa Crime Boss he takes down, he leaves a pristine rose next to their body.
@thefourseven:Thanks for your impressions of Souldiers. Like you, after watching this I was going to buy it, but read through the comments and saw yours. Saved me a few bucks. I may check it out on sale, but good to know. Appreciate the mini-review.
It's sad that Bruce Campbell never made the A-List cut back in the day. Handsome, charismatic and easy to work with. People have mentioned some of his good stuff, but you rarely see Brisco County Jr. as well.
As for the theater talk, I'm one of both minds. There's nothing like seeing a premiere with a crowd that's hype. I'll never forget my midnight viewings of the LOTR trilogy. That said, a lot of theaters now are dingy, people are on their cell phones and I'd rather be home watching it.
Really enjoy What the Dub, but that game definitely evolved over time with suggestions over Steam/forums/etc. This one looks like it takes all of those suggestions with a lot more options as well as a cleaner/better presentation. Looking forward to playing this one as well!
