Both are most certainly not great but at least American Dad makes jokes based on it's own characters and situations, as opposed to Family Guy which relies purely on pop culture non-sequiturs to pad out whatever thin story there is. Despite the Simpsons going downhill it will still be better than both on the strength of its earlier (but not earliest, lets be clear) seasons.

I mean, don't we already know how this ends? It's going to be the SNES right? That's how these things always end?

Texture pop in is part of Unreal Engine 3. It's not a bug, it's a feature! I'm guessing if you're playing Batman on a PS3 you may not have experienced Gears of War (U3 engine games, in case you live in a hole and... wait, no, you probably know that, you read this site). Those games did a fine line in laid back texture loading.

You're all missing the true crossover possibilities here! High School Musical 4: Carnage Goes Apeshit? Actually, that one basically sums up all my ideas, the worst elements of Disney marketing vs. Carnage.

The battle system is VERY different, which probably explains why it's my favorite FF. That and the fact that you realise that the 'main' character isn't really the main character. It represents a fairly bold departure from quite a few FF traditions, for which it should be lauded. There are a few annoying things, like the AWFUL method for getting one of the top weapons, but the story is surprisingly solid, and the writing and voice acting doesn't make me wince like a lot of English localisations (I'm playing through Star Ocean 4 and I want to hurt some people right now). My recommendation would be to enjoy it as itself, I've heard too much criticism of the game solely based on the fact that it's not a prettier FFVII.
 
It's great, most fun I've had with a JRPG probably ever.

Well, seeing as my £60 acoustic guitar had surgery done to it when I realised the action on it wasn't 'challenging' it was 'fucking retarded' (I took a file and a hacksaw to the saddle to lower the action, and now it plays quite nicely, but it was a crapshoot as to whether I'd fuck it up and destroy the guitar), buying a good quality guitar off the bat is probably sensible, especially if you do have some past experience. The only upshot of a cheapo one is, when the apocalypse comes you won't be so hesitant to bust it up for firewood.

The demo was certainly enjoyable, but I hope the full game leans toward the CSI type stuff and stealth takedowns more than the straightforward DOMINATION of random thugs. I mean, he is Batman, so he should be taking these guys out without breaking a sweat, but it's not the most entertaining gameplay. Hamill rules, Conroy is great. Lip syncing seemed a bit off, which always bugs me when you've got solid voice actors doing the parts. The character models look brilliant, Jim Gordon looking a little... thick? Must go to the same gym as Delta squad. The game should be great, the two things that may hurt it are A) if it repeats itself too much, specifically with the combat, and B) if it's really short... I can honestly see a game like this being over in about five hours, and with the puzzles probably having a 'right way to do things' re-playability is a concern.

Ask him how much he gets paid so he can fly all the way from the West Coast to England to perform random home invasions on a whim. I guess then he'd see I don't own a copy of SF4, or KOF, or MK or anything like that and probably leave. I'm British, so naturally I'd be honour bound to offer him a cup of tea regardless.
