—Straight Bangers—

The Witcher 3 - My favorite game of all time. Play it. Now.

Yakuza Kiwami - Amazing game. I prefer Zero, but Kiwami is great. Lots of drama, lots of silliness, some amazing sequences toward the end of that game, too. The Yakuza world is super easy to get pulled into. I love these games...

Monster Hunter: World - REALLY cool, but it sort of never ends. It’s a really good solo game, and an outstanding co-op game. Taking down those monsters that used to just show up and murder you on sight is SUPER satisfying. It’s a unique experience that you should play, especially if you have a crew.

—Great—

Oxenfree - Great game. Cool story and puzzles. Some of the completionist-style puzzles are worth breaking out a notebook. Very cool.

—REALLY Good—

Pillars of Eternity - I really enjoyed it until I fell off. Cool game and world, but I just sort of got tired of it.

—Totally Fine—

Untitled Goose Game - It’s fine. It’s not a time waster, but the early hype on this one was overblown. Totally fine puzzle game with some quirky charm.

—Stinkers—

Borderlands 3 - Skip it. I bought it at some friends’ behest. It’s a time-killer at best. Value your time more than that and skip it.

—Also on my Backlog—

Invisible Inc

Resident Evil 2 Remake

@humanity: Agreed. I’m feeling really down about GB lately. I’m unsubscribed from...everything but the aftermath. I mostly just use the forums.

I’ll still go back and watch old videos and maybe some old podcast segments, but what the GB crew is producing these days isn’t for me anymore.

Still, voice your concerns, displeasure, whatever in a mature manner, OP. Oh, and Rorie does rock. My enjoyment in GB is at an all time low, but Rorie’s got some community hustle. His dedication to some of the issues that pop-up on these forums lifts my spirits about this place whenever I see him posting. Dude’s an MVP.

Oh, shoutout to Business Dave! The top 10 is on fucking point every time!

@blackichigo: No one character has ruined a game for me. Even Sophia Coppola in Godfather Part 3 didn’t RUIN that movie (there’s a lot wrong with it, but it’s totally fine and Pacino is great).

I’d be lying if I didn’t come into this thread scanning for the words “Deus Ex,” though. ;)

The one celebrating Ryan was amazing. It was a bunch of amazing Ryan clips with the occasional break to play Suburban All-Star tracks (including the absurdly amazing “In the Can, in the Can”).

@bigsocrates: Rare Achievement sound is amazing.

I’ll add the Boogeyman from the original Toe Jam & Earl.

I mostly stopped playing games in my teens...I’m glad I did because that was a lot of fun living.

I picked them back up around the time I got engaged, slowing down my nightlife and settling into married life.

Then having kids slowed things down again. They’re still slow. Some of it is career, some of it is parenting, some of it is other hobbies. But I’m definitely in something of a lull.

I only play games a few hours a week, most weeks.

If I’m 1-2 hours in and not feeling it, I’m out. If it wears out its welcome, I’m out.

Borderlands 3 (bought it against my better judgment because friends wanted to play) and last year’s Devil May Cry are two recent examples. Devil May Cry lost me due to lack of variety a few hours in. Borderlands just failed to make me give a damn from the start.
