Agree with this. I just can't bring myself to play games on the N64 and PS1 for longer than 15 minutes before my eyes start to bleed. The very early 3D stuff I find is extremely difficult to go back to now. 2D is timeless though.
and it's really annoying to know that back when those games came out I loved playing them (Ex: ps1 era Final Fantasy's) and now that I think about wanting to play them again I pop in the game and quit after a few mins because of how terrible the games have aged.

Maybe it's more exciting than mundane real life. It's entertaining, challenging and fun.
This exactly. My life is boring as hell. In games you can go on grand adventures, become champion of the world, be a war hero. Sometimes even all at the same time

I've only ever played the demo versions of Infamous 1 and 2 but I am still willing to buy a PS3 just for those two games. Every time i've played those demos i was there for at least an hours just messing around with the world.

According to CAG there is a bit of precedence of Target doing this same thine with MLB the Show last year. This mistake could be more widespread then we think but it's still Super YMMV.

The last time I got hyped up for any game was the first Assassin's Creed. I'm sure a lot of you understand how disappointed I was at that game. That experience pretty much killed any game being able to hype me up for it.

@djotakuThis gives me hope for Final Fantasy X-2 which, thus far, appears to be more of a “let’s see what happened with all our old friends” than a proper plot. But Final Fantasy games usually take until near the halfway point to reveal the true story.  The game while having a great and fast battle mechanic was a big disappointment when it came to story. The story of the game is told to you right at the start and doesn't really start fleshing out until near the middle and end. Otherwise you have to just do a bunch of meaningless crap in order to advance the story.

And in order to see the full ending, you have to attain 100% completion, which means engaging in a series of the most mind-bogglingly inane, absurd, and just plain stupid tasks from start to finish.  Only attempt it if you have a strategy guide on hand and are a masochist.  EDIT: Better yet, ignore that X-2 exists.  The game seriously isn't worth it.
Right I didn't even get into the stupid fucking way of obtaining the best ending. Thanks to the world we are in now if you finish the game and want to see the best ending you can just youtube it. Way easier to do then then to spend any of the time needed to get the 100%
