Until I saw this thread on the front page I hadn't even realised there were people who didn't like what Patrick has brought to the site up until now. Before Patrick arrived Giant Bomb had already become my favourite site just because it seems one of the few left that actually enjoy playing games and are always looking for new ways to have fun with the subject. Patrick to me has just stepped the site up an extra level. Apart from Rock Paper Shotgun it's hard to find any other outlets that talk about games without just being a PR mouthpiece. I've really welcomed his attempts to find interesting stories and dig deeper into topics than the face value of press releases. I just hope if the attempts at investigate journalism are getting lower hits and a storm of dismissive comments it doesn't deter the site from pushing in that direction.

@Perrin: If you like doing these I'd suggest checking out the MS Paint Adventures forums if you haven't already. They've got a whole section for fan made adventures and the community is pretty fun.

Ah cool. I read their site but don't check their forums so will have a look into that.

Sorry for those of you who don't like this as advertising. It's one of those tricky things where I have no idea how to find people to play along. So thought I'd just take a punt here.

I do indie game dev as well and with that's there's a ton of places to just legitimately tell people what you're working on without resorting to forum spam. Something a bit weird like this, I'm kinda stumped.

If people aren't interested though we'll just let it die but right now it's still fun. Just lacking in players.

So I hope I'm not gonna run afoul of spamming rules here, I guess we'll see what people think. Probably doesn't help I don't post much in forums but I do pretty much live on Giant Bomb and watch everything they post.

So, me and a friend started up a pair of interactive web comic games last week. Inspired by stuff like Problem Sleuth and Ruby Quest. Where we draw panels and people come and post suggested commands. The next day we pick the best and use them to progress the story. It's all inspired by and heavily referential towards old school adventure games.

Last week we just shared it with friends and it's been a blast doing it. Now though we'd really like to find some more players who'd like to get involved with it. So if you're intersted please come and check it out:

Again sorry if people think of this as spam. Not trying to get any personal gain out of this or anything, this is a just little side project I'm doing that's hopefully a bit of fun for everyone.

I recently got my account back after a 3 month wait for it to be returned. I wasn't worried about achivement points, friends list, gamertag, I only needed it back because I've bought so many XBLA games and DLC packs I didn't want to lose. One of those things you never expect to happen to you and massively frustrating when it finally does. :(

More music please! I'm happy enough listening to Jeff's strange track selection but since I'm playing pretty much exclusively on the awesome GB server it's just a shame how quickly songs come back round in the rotation.

Jasper's games are great he did an AMAZING Silent Hill 2 demake called Soundless Mountain 2 as well. But Soul Brother is just perfection. Glad to see it getting coverage on here.

hahah I considered it. But in the end laziness won out I'm afraid so they're fairly high quality. But the random assortment of junk I threw in there is never going to produce a music video anyone would consider "watchable" ^_^

Maybe someone will record a finished video from it. You'd need to use some screen capture as I didn't write any kind of exporter. But to be honest the results from it are always gonna look dreadful. Much like the original. ^_^

Watching through Giant Bomb's 5-hour retro gaming session got me through a long dull train journey to my family home. When they were playing with "Make My Video - Marky Mark" it occurred to me how easy (and possibly amusing) it would be to make a Giant Bomb version of Make My Video. So I did just that. Only took about a day and half to make and like the original you can't really produce anything good with it, but it's amusing non the less.

So Merry Christmas everyone. I've only been following Giant Bomb for a year now but they've gotten me over my scrooge like hatred of most games journalism. So I hope everyone gets a kick out of this silly little game I've made:

Make My Video - Giant Bomb [Windows 221MB]
Make My Video - Giant Bomb [OSX 227MB]

I wondered why this wasn't in the map pack already. Should be interesting.
