It makes you feel better about the console you bought (if you only have / could afford one) and makes you feel like you made the correct choice when purchasing said console.
If you're fucked in the head yeah.
Nobody likes to be told the thing they just bought sucks, whether it be directly or indirectly. While not the primary reason why sales statistics are worthwhile (I would put the fact that developers don't give a damn if there isn't enough people in the market ahead) it's still a decent reason.
I wouldn't call it an exploit. All you do is craft a ton of iron daggers. Iron and leather strips are easy to come by, so it doesn't take very long to max out Smithing.
And then if you sell them individually you'll level speech pretty quick too.
I was doing that on like the second day, it was pretty damn obvious. Then I started over and beat it, then I just outright cheated.
The upside to killing Paarthurnax is that you can bring three companions to Delphine, and then start seeking out dragon roosts. When you're at the dragon roost you'll have your 3 blades members helping you kill the dragon, and they're all decked out in the blades armor. (Delphine is a bitch though)
Every way. God damn I love using every type of weapon it's created this awful multi-save shit going on where I have Sword/Shield, Twohander, Mage, Dagger/Bow etc.
