Same here, listened to the whole thing, not realising until I saw this thread! Thanks!

The weird thing was when they pushed the correct version, in my podcast app they both had the same name and lenght, which was confusing and I assumed it was actually an error of the app, not the feed. I wonder how many people will miss this episode entirely, as I nearly did, especially now that the site redesign pushed many people away from forums.

I'm playing one One X and it's not a good looking game. When you fly over the terrian, you see CONSTANT pop-in, as the level of detail changes through the stages. And it's not smooth, it's very jiggerry.

The framerate is great, but the destructibility is severely limited, basicaly only to the same objects over and over again, fuel tanks and such.

The map is probably the worst open-world map I have ever seen: you can not zoom out much, so you can always see only a small portion of the entire thing. The scrolling of the map is CHOPPY and incredibly frustrating. And I don't understand the squad forces system at all, I have to do the mission in each region anyway, before sending in the Chaos Army, so what is the point in this? I am sitting at 10+ squads the entire time, with no place to send them.

And the cutscenes are fucked: they are horribly artefacted by poor compression, they for some reason are laggy and choppy and the problems with rendering are present even here, in spite of them being video files! Shadows flicker on characers' faces and hair, there are some VERY poor textures etc.

I am selling this one ASAP, while the price is at least a bit high so I can get most of my money back, the rest is a price for being stupid and getting hyped into preordering!

The story is garbage as well, but that was expected so it's not bothering me all that much.

It's a confusing mess. After watching the video I understand the intent behind some of the features, but honestly I think they missed that by a mile. What a shame.

I am sure a lot of work went into the new design and I was really trying to give it a chance, to get used to it and learn the new layouts, but it just seems very hard to navigate or just to know what is happenning on the site currently. I wish they reverted to the old site, I can not help myself, the new one is bad.

My PC died. I moved away from PC gaming in recent years so I decided to have a new computer built and try to use Linux for the first time, learning new things is a good thing, meaning I would not need Windows for compatibility reasons anymore.

I am 32 years old and I have literally never even seen Linux running on a computer, never used anything but Windows. Google search pointed me towards Ubuntu, which I managed to install and set up to do most of the things I expect the computer to do, but I have been having a couple of issues with no luck of resolving so far:

1) Choppy video playback

- I specifically ordered this computer to be built towars 40k@60, as it is and will only be connected to my TV, used mostly towards streaming and watching downloaded GB videos, with a touch of futureproofing to a time when those will actually be in 4k. The GPU was selected because it has a 2.0HDMI port and a passive cooling to keep the noise down, in my living room. So far the HD quality GB videos run fine in VLC, but I have been having issues playing stuff from youtube. Every video feels laggy. I am running my desktop (or whatever you call it in linux) in 4k@60, when I switch to 1080p@60, it is completely fine and fluid, despite the same resolution of the source video (in testing: 1080p). I am including my specs in the attached screenshot for reference, I was told the processor should have no problems playing 4k videos in 60fps. The desktop enviroment itself runs great as well, it is just the playback that sucks.

2) Dynamic contrast

- It looks like there is some setting to dynamically change contrast/brightness on my panel. When I am viewing a mostly white web page for example, the whole screen goes dimmer, when I scroll so there is a darker image displayed, the white parts go much lighter again. This is super distracting. I am pretty sure this is not my TVs setting, as I used this HDMI port (and the corresponding settings) with my old PC, with all post-processing switched off and I never had this problem.

If you have any advice on any of these issues, it would be very appriciated. Please keep in mind that I spent less than 5 hours working in this enviroment so far, I only learned the concept of Terminal yesterday and so on :-)

Have they said anything about whether there is gonna be a new episode today?

It's in the upcoming videos on the homepage now.

Depends on your definition of "mandatory", technically all games will work out of the box, with the exception of online only games like Destiny. It's true patches do bring significant improvements, but they are never required for games to work in the first place.

Of those three I would go with God of War, that should keep you busy for the week till you get the console online.

Edit: also any good retailer should plug your new console in right in the store and update your game, if that's worth the hassle to you.

I don't have Odyssey yet, but Origins had a very good but simple tool to calibrate this, look around in the options, I worked perfectly and the game looks so good. LG C7 user here.

I only play in competitive playlist now, because of the lower player count. Game feels pretty balanced to me, even with different levels of gear, which gets flattened out and it's just about picking right perks for your style of play.

That being said, Sleeper Simulant in Gambit is just ridiculous, I don't get why it's not nefed yet, since 70-80% invasion kills are by that weapon, that alone should point to a problem...
