I'm just commenting in the case that someone from staff sees and needs a confidence boost: this feels AWESOME. I love this, and I'm really excited.

When I finish a season of a show on a streaming service, do I cancel it? No. Not as long as I'm looking forward to what's next. In fact, it scratches the itch of completion of something that gets me watching every episode (instead of tuning in and out, like I do with evergreen content) and then looking for the next series. That structure is what had me watch all of Metal Gear Scanlon or This is the Run but has me catch some/miss some for UPF (even though I love it).

I think this is a great, sustainable direction. Keep up the great ideas and work!

@spiritof: I'm also running into a 500 after authenticating.

I like the current style, and I also enjoy the old style. With more producers and editors on board, maybe they can do both? Like, a small team goes out to the events and has reactions while they have the "back at the desk" group as well. Live coverage to cut to would probably be even more difficult, but even if the field stuff was released like a vlog later, that would be cool. Abby's vlog this year is fun to watch, and Drew's from a few years ago was also great.

@brunothethird: You're good, my dude. I can see where you're coming from, for sure. You have a bunch of people eager to see what you have, ready to chat with their friends about it. You're waiting patiently, then it starts...but then it's a 5 minute fluff piece that's not what you were waiting for. On top of that, it's certainly some interoffice dynamic shenanigans, which can definitely be cringy to watch.

Likewise, thanks for the understanding response! I appreciate it. At first I was a bit hesitant to post in case it came across poorly, but I'm glad it didn't.

Also, you made me think about Prey again, which I feel like I'm constantly reminded to actually try. I've heard it's so good, but I haven't tried it! I should get around to that.

I'm very curious about Todd Howard's use of the word "next-gen" to describe Starfield (and most likely TESVI). I wonder if he means that Starfield is the next generation of Bethesda games as in it will utilize new tech, or an actual next generation console game.

I think both.

I think it's also an intentional, clever way of putting a broad, distant timeframe in mind for people asking about it. A statement like that says, "It's far off" in a fair, relatable way without bolting down to any year.

Bethesda started with a cringe-worthy opening 'why we're so awesome' recruitment video

I think that's kind of unfair. That part is largely recognition for those employees when they have their largest audience, and it's for them. In an industry where up-and-down, temporary contract work is a huge part of the work force, a company thanking and showcasing their FTE staff is nice to see. I also think Blizzard does this well, and I'm sure it feels good as an employee to see.

I use a Bodum Chambord french press, and I love it. I typically use it twice a day, and it's really easy to use and maintain. It's about $40 at Target most of the time, but you can also find it at TJ Maxx for ~$20 from time to time.

For coffee beans, I like Ethiopian and Sumatran a lot. Most of the time, I just get Costco whole bean bulk bags.

I'm interested in looking into a Turkish coffee setup to play with that for a while. If anyone has suggestions, that would be great!

One thing is for sure, he’s a smooth presenter.

For real. He does a great job of coming off organized, earnest, and casual, which is very hard.

I've never played a WH40K game. Is there anything you'd compare it to gameplay wise?

Blizzard stuff that you can pick up and put down, namely D3, Hearthstone, or WoW. It sounds dumb, but I'd totally sacrifice typing to just knock out some quests on WoW from the couch here and there.

I don't think WoW is at all feasible, but it would be fun for me personally.

Realistically, Into the Breach would be cool.
