It seems I've not played many 2014 games. Ah well, here's my list of pretty great games.

The best local multiplayer game I've played in years, this has dominated my gaming scene all year. Good for tournaments too.

An amalgam of solid combat and world-building with a layer of intrigue in the Nemesis system make a known quantity deeply interesting.

As good of a Pokemon remake as could be desired, using improvements from X to create a great experience. It makes me excited for future installments.

It's the only instance of an electronic card game that is actually good, and boy is it good.

This let me back in to the world of Diablo III, and reminded me of the visceral combat and damn good fun that comes from the grind.

An oft-overlooked, underrated gem which was the funniest game I've played in a long time. Throw pizza at turtles.

Although I almost prefer the original more, the improvements made to this game across the board should be celebrated.
