" Wow, thank you guys so much for your responses here. I'm curating a huge list of your suggestions, and while they definitely won't all make the cut, we should be pretty well-stocked with non-shooter options for some time to come.

Of course, we'll still dip into the occasional new release, though we've definitely got Europe in mind for those.

Also, Splinter Cell kids! Quit splitting hairs and being bitchy and start playing nice, or no one will get to be Sam Fisher, a spy, or a merc!

What are you feeling from the thread that is popping up all the time that you wouldn't of thought about?

Wow...just read that back, don't post if you're slightly pissed it would seem, Um,

What are you seeing in this thread that many people have come up with that you wouldn'tve thought many people would be into,

Engrish!

I don't want to unduly get anyone's hopes up, but I never would've seriously considered Mount & Blade or FIFA were it not for the repeated suggestions in this thread. Those are not going to be easy picks, but I can see the potential, at least.

" @Ryan:  Do you have any idea when the panel will end? I only ask because the trains stop running at midnight. "

Official end time is 10:30... but there's a good chance we'll run late. I'll definitely keep the train situation in mind, though.

" Had no idea that tickets were needed for the panel specifically, I thought we could just line up...crap. There's always the next PAX... "
Panels are part of PAX, so if you've got a Friday PAX pass, you're G2G. If you don't have a Friday or Three-Day pass, you are SOL.

I suggest lining up early simply because our panels have, in the past, come pretty close to capacity. I don't think anyone's been turned away from one of our panels before, but better safe than sorry, yeah?

As the panels are intended for paying PAX East attendees, it would be poor form for us to live-stream the the Bombcast Live. HOWEVER! We will be recording both video and audio of the panel to post on the site after the fact.

We hope you guys like apples!
We hope you guys like apples!
The Giant Bomb team will finally be shattering its pants-optional-weather policy and making its full-fledged East Coast debut later this week at the Penny Arcade Expo East 2011, which is being hosted at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center in beautiful, freezing-ass Boston. We'll be scouring the show floor all three days of the Exposition, checking out games and interviewing all of the most luminous of industry luminaries.

More than anything, though, we're coming to PAX East to interact with you, the glorious and kind Giant Bomb users who keep our egos fed, our bar stocked, and our lights on. So if you see us in the wild during PAX East, and we don't appear to be in the middle of Official Serious Video Games Business, please, feel free to walk right up to us and say hi! We'll be more than happy to shake hands, bump fists, take pictures, sign stuff, kiss babies, receive deep-tissue back massages, whatever!

If you'd rather not just leave it to random chance, though, we've got some scheduled activities as well. Mere hours after we touch down at Boston Logan International Airport this Thursday night, we'll be fairly-yet-harshly-and-also-probably-drunkenly judging the mock-rock performances at Harmonix's Rock Band Night at the Brattle Theater. I feel a bit like a jerk mentioning this at all, as this event is already totally sold out, but hey, if anyone asks, that's where we'll be.

Actual manticores will NOT BE ALLOWED ADMISSION.
Actual manticores will NOT BE ALLOWED ADMISSION.
To be fair, PAX East itself is also fully sold out, though if you're one of the seventy-odd-thousand lucky ticket-holders, we encourage you to come bear witness to the Giant Bombcast Live! which will be popping off at 9:30PM on Friday night in the Manticore Theater. This probably sounds more than a little cocky, but if our past PAX Prime panel experience is any indication, there's a decent chance we'll fill the room, so it's probably a good idea to line up early for choice seating.

And as if watching us fill time for an hour-plus in an oversized auditorium weren't incentive enough to come experience the Giant Bombcast Live!, we'll also be announcing the details of our Saturday Night Giant Bomb Meet-Up that night. We're taking over a to-be-revealed Boston bar for the evening, where, in addition to the regular Giant Bomb on-camera knuckleheads, you'll also have a chance to sip suds alongside Giant Bomb favorites like Dave "EnemyKite" Snider, Phil "Wafflestomp" Reno, Kat "TurboToaster" Smith, and Matthew "Make Yourself Useful And Go Get Me A Sandwich, Bodega" Kessler. (EDIT: Please note that this will be a 21+ function. Sorry youngsters!)

So! In summary:

  • Thursday Night - Rock Band Night at the Brattle Theater (SOLD OUT!)
  • Friday Night - Giant Bombcast Live! in the Manticore Theater at PAX East (also TOTALLY SOLD OUT!)
  • Saturday Night - Giant Bomb Meet-Up (LOCATION TO BE REVEALED!)

Even if you won't be attending PAX East, we'll be documenting as much of our Bostonian shenanigans as possible for later consumption. Seriously, you guys, we could not be more excited for PAX East. PAX is one of our absolute favorite events of the year, and we cannot wait to see how the East Coast does it. We hope to see you there!

After nearly 17 years of game development, Liverpool-based developer Bizarre Creations is no more. The team that brought you Project Gotham Racing, Geometry Wars, Blur, and did I mention Geometry Wars has been dissolved, and it's sad to consider that such talented folks won't be able to ply their trade together anymore. But before they turned off the lights for good, Bizarre Creations trailer editor Eamon Urtone put together this little farewell piece that I'm not afraid to admit made me a little misty. So watch, savor the fond memories, and let's all hope for a brighter future for those affected.

Alright folks, I'm calling this one on account of rain. Also, I clearly need to think this one out a little further in advance, if, for nothing else, the purpose of devising some kind of vetting process. Regardless, thanks for all of your feedback on this idea guys, it's very much appreciated.

FYI, we've got both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Marvel vs. Capcom 3 in the house for today's show, though Jeff's also bringing in his copies of Super Street Fighter IV and Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. Not saying anything here, just sayin'!

Pussies, the lot of you! Do you avoid eye contact with your monitors, too? "
Call me a pussy if you want, but you're suggesting putting socially awkward geeks unfiltered onto the internet. I think maybe it just hits too close to home "
I'm rough about it, but really I'm just saying have a little faith in us, and in your fellow Giant Bombers! Not everyone's a recluse or a stalker, and you know we'll do our best to keep it fun. This is a safe place!
