@vibratingdonkey: They may think if your or my bro want to play a borrowed game anymore, that they can use your/my xbox. Perhaps since my brother has his own xbox and your brother probably does too, they are assuming our brothers could cough up the cash if the inconvenience is too high. I hope they aren't betting on this because as you said, dealbreaker. My brother lives ten feet away but we have separate lives and I don't want him and he doesn't want me "coming over" to play a game regularly if we are not playing multiplayer together. Even then, we usually play over the network on our separate boxes and TVs.

I am curious what deals existing rental places would make with publishers though. Redboxes are all over the place here and GameFly is big enough that they might strike a deal for their customers of some kind. They have done so in the past for content and modes locked behind pay walls. When the last Battlefield shipped the entire online part of the game was locked. A few days later GF had worked out a deal to get lots of codes for their customers so they could use the game at least for a few weeks without further purchase.

After giving some time for thought, my take away from the show remains how ready I am for that dog to be part of my squad. Perhaps this has more to do with having my own service German Shepherd dog. I probably will be playing it on PC or Xbox 360 if PC, for some unforeseen reason, is unavailable at launch; which I doubt. Also, I rarely play any multiplayer and am one of the fabled "Single Player Gamers" that people often hear about, but never see in the wild. The rest of the show was pretty boring and made me happy that I already have a laptop better than current or next-gen consoles to game on.

This isn't as bad as it sounds. I did a bunch of research on this, and

I really like the OG 3DS. The XL has a cheaper plastic feel and look to me, plus I cannot fit the XL in my pockets like I can the OG 3DS. Either way you experience 3DS content is great. I am very happy with my 3DS purchase. I was concerned for a bit, but software continues to roll out.

I think it depends whether you want to see more pixels as the games are blown up to fit the bigger screen. If you do not mind that, or the fact that 3DS XL does not fit into most of the pants pockets I own then go for it if you are that into the XL. $120 buys a lot of content for your current 3DS though.

edit: removed a redundancy

@mrfluke: My bad, I intended to quote the sentence in the article that was in your post. I will miss Geralt as well. Looking forward to this game!

So there you have it, nothing can kill the Witcher, not even the monster of errant marketing.

Geralt has a sword for just that kind of monster!

@believer258: It was confusing because the sentence was not finished. It is edited now and currently says:

"The auctions themselves netted just about $830,000, and the Amalur IP was recently valued at about $20 million."

I was confused because when I posted the sentence ended "Amalur IP was ." which seemed incomplete.

Nothing. Tried to run through FF13 before FF13-2 hit and I got about as far as I did the first time before moving on to other stuff like Borderlands 2 on the 360. X-Com and Torchlight 2 on PC.
