I was thinking the reason he showed up at the end because the Catalyst wanted to model itself after something "familiar" to Shepard to not shock him or something maybe. Kind of like in the movie Contact when the lady finally goes through the portal device and finds her long dead dad standing on an alien planet talking to her because it wanted to present her with something she was familiar with. Something like that anyway.

So what room does this leave for traditional DLC? Why should anyone basically give a shit about any additional characters or missions if people know the ultimate result of all your decisions and such is this meaningless and awful? I was thinking about doing an Insanity play but ...screw that. A day later after beating it and I still can't get over how disappointed. Not even an epilogue of how my decision to synthesize affected everything. Couldn't even bother to give me a picture with text explaining it just some magical green space magic.

Unite the races, build the huge weapon, take back earth and defeat the head Reaper and then live happily ever after with whoever you romanced. Was that too difficult BioWare?

I picked this option as it seemed the least worst. Did anyone notice Joker coming out of the ship with all those green techy looking lines over his skin. I'm assuming signifying that the DNA of organics and synthetics is now combined. Or I wonder if that happens in all the endings since apparently they're pretty much scene for scene the same.

Never played any of these but kind of interested in this one. Is this game/series more multiplayer focused or do they have good or "enjoyable" stories with crazy mech combat? I have fond memories of playing Front Mission 3 and I actually kind of liked Front Mission Evolved.

I picked up Binary Domain. Got $10 credit from Amazon for getting Mass Effect 3 and will use that on my day one purchase of this. This is a series that I couldn't recommend to any of my friends but I absolutely love yet can't explain why. I love the long cutscenes. I love the cinematic stories. I love the arcade type of beat em up combat. I love it's ...Japaneseness. A lot more accessible to me in this form than in JRPG form as that's a genre I've just grown past.

Day one baby!

Oh, and welcome to the site, Duder!

Thank you. Longtime lurker and podcast leacher. Decided to buy a premium membership to actually give back to giantbomb.

The "gameplay" kind of goes between flying Panzer Dragoon lockon type of aerial combat, God of War-ish third person action (although you won't be really doing any exploring) and of course, Quick Time Events. I think once this drops to 20 bucks or so (which it probably will sooner than later) I can't recommend it enough for those on the fence. The game is definitely not long (there's 3 parts and I'm now on part 3 with about 5 hours into the game) but I think it makes for a unique addition to every ones game library. This will probably be something you show friends in a couple of years who never heard of the game and enjoy their WTF reactions.

...and don't regret a cent. It is definitely flawed (probably because you couldn't quite call this a "game") but damn what an experience. This game will definitely not sell but hopefully it becomes a cult classic. Highly recommended to people who can enjoy "different" things.
