People hate halo because it is held up as the game that is suppose to define the gaming medium to the dirty casuals. There was a report on NPR about how Halo 3 was so amazing because they had people testing the game before it even shipped (as if that didn't happen for every game ever). Plus graphically it is not that impressive and I think we can all agree that if you play Halo online then you are probably one of the worst thirteen year olds to ever exist. The level design is not very good and then when you get to the end they tell you to go back the way you just came just so they wouldn't have to create more content.
Here is the story: Robot guy with no personality shoots aliens in the face so the big circle won't blow up earth. Not that exciting, and not the masterpiece fanboys think it is.
I could go into greater detail about enemy AI, control design, narrative, animation, ect... but I will just leave it as saying. Halo is an average FPS that does not deserve the respect that it gets and should not be the medium defining icon some people want it to be.
I don't think that Kinjiro played all the way to the end, because the end is not sad. Keep playing and you will see the real ending. Oh, Pass on the DLC.
