Yikes, I have 2 little monsters and can't even imagine what I'd do if one of them had a serious health problem. Super glad to hear that things are looking positive.

As far as gaming goes, I've definitely gravitated more towards a combination of shorter games and portable, bite-sized games. Basically, the day is spent picking away at phone games or handheld games like knocking off a turn or two of SteamWorld Heist or periodically checking in on some asynchronous multiplayer in something like SolForge. Also since the GotY discussions, I've fallen back into the clicker trap because I guess Time Clickers is on the phone and basically that's all I do now? It's really gross and troublesome.

Everything else is relegated to the "after everyone else is asleep" gaming time of an hour or two at night. This means that while I beat a lot of games like Life Is Strange and Soma and Cibele and Dr. Langeskov, I'm still plugging away at Fallout 4, am only maybe halfway through AC Syndicate at most, and have left Xenoblade more or less completely untouched.

@toysoldier83: Ah, a casual search seems to indicate the village is right before the Undine fight? I honestly have no idea how much gold I have and purposefully grinding through unfun combat to not have to grind quite as hard through future unfun combat doesn't seem like the best solution but maybe I'll give it a try one of these days.

Of course with all the GotY podcasts I feel like most of the best tricks the game has have been laid out for me but it's probably still worth seeing through. Hm. Thanks for the tip.

When a game has a detective vision but instead of making enemies visible through walls it randomly makes them completely invisible fuck you Syndicate 2012 also why do you constantly dip below 20 FPS on my 970 GTX?

All the talk about this game on GotY reminded me that I own it but haven't played it and this game is fucking bust on my PC. I run Witcher 3 at pretty high settings but this old-ass game was constantly dropping sub-20 FPS for me in the tutorial section. Oh, and for some reason half the time enemies disappear when you turn on detective vision or whatever they call it. Even during the fucking tutorial when it was telling me to use it to see the enemy's position, I had two dudes in front of me unloading and they were effectively invisible until I turned the vision mode off.

Huh I thought I was the biggest scaredy cat when it comes to games but maybe not? Like, scary anything is enough to fuck me up for a long time. I still get freaked out in the shower sometimes and don't want to close my eyes when I rinse my hair because I think when I open them I'm going to see X, Y or Z from whatever movie I accidentally watched 15 years ago. Sometimes I'm like 90% sure there's going to be a wendigo when I step out, thanks Until Dawn.

But I was still able to slog through Soma without any significant issues. I mean I totally would freak out and refuse to look at the screen whenever something grabbed me, but maybe it's because all the stuff about consciousness and mortality and existence freaked me out more, the actually scary stuff didn't bother me as much?

Anyways, hopefully more people become aware of this mod because everyone should get a chance to experience this game. Glad it worked out for you OP.

@fredchuckdave: Yeah, still bums me the fuck out. In other news I ordered my Hitbox so we'll see how that goes if it ever arrives.
