My favorite games of the last decade

Here is my list of my favorite games of the last 10 years.

List items

  • Amazing. If you follow the Metal Gear series like I have, then this is a must play. The story comes to an end (sort of) and it is to date the only game that has ever made me cry.

  • Another ground breaking game, that pretty much pioneered the over the shoulder camera view ala Gears of War and countless other titles. One of my personal favorites and near the top of my "holy fuckin' shit!" list. I can't remember anything scarier than the first time you walk trough the foggy trail in the beginning of the game and get swarmed homicidal villagers.

  • In terms of cinematic gameplay, Uncharted 2 is at the top of the heap. As of the closing days of 2009, Uncharted 2 remains the king of my "holy fuckin' shit!" list.

  • This game nearly revolutionized First Person Shooters and online multiplayer. If you like FPS, this is a must own.

  • Half Life 2 managed to take everything from Half Life and upgrade it with next-gen graphics, improved mechanics, amazing story and memorable characters ("soo.. about that beer I owed ya!")

Hopefully we will see Episode 3 sometime around Q4 2020

  • This game sucks. But back in the day, this game was the BEST FPS game on the market. Not only did it jumpstart the online Tactical FPS crazy, but it was damn fun too. This is the game that started my obsession with FPS games.

  • Quite possibly the best World War II game out there.

  • Whats better than Tekken 1,2 and 3? Tekken TAG. Tekken TAG took all of your favorites from the first 3 games (and some new ones) and put them all together in one place with updated graphics and gamely mechanics. In my opinion the best Tekken game to date. And the Tekken Bowl mini game is great too.

  • I don't know why, but this game still hold a place in my heart. Maybe it's the awful voice acting (PS2 port) or the cover based 3 person shooting action (over the shoulder with laser pointers anyone?) but what really stands out in my mind is the great story, and how your actions throughout the game influence who lives and dies, and ultimately the ending.

Too bad the second game is better served as an improvised coaster.

  • This game has one of the best plots and stories of all time, even rivaling the Metal Gear series. Deus Ex was the first FPS/RPG game, and many (myself included) still consider it to be the best.
