Game of the Year 2013

  • It's hard to describe, but there always seems to be that little bit more to these Ninja Theory games. It's the small things they do with the characters, vulnerable glimpses that make the action all worth it. Sure, I had fun in this vast hell on earth action game, but I genuinely liked the characters and wanted to see their story through.

  • There's this moment in GTAV where, as Trevor, you're finally heading to Los Santos and you're just driving to suddenly go over a hill and there it is, the city lights. By this point, you know the city but this is the first time you're seeing it like this and it is one of those magical Rockstar moments. I didn't dig the story of this GTA as much as others, but it was the small moments like that in this vast world including the vast open areas that made this one an experience to remember.

  • This is so much fun to just poke at. I genuinely treasured a lot of my time with this game, especially on the first couple of play throughs before I "worked it out" and could min-max my way to the best ending. Even then though, the number of unique stories that are available here and new discoveries that you can come by on a fourth or fifth run remain some of my favourite gaming memories.
